I can't much picture snape going out to pay the electric bill. Especially while at Hogwarts.

Very insightful! I totally agree with you. Now that you've gotten to see Snape's house in the movie, what do you think? Alan Rickman walked on set, looked around, and said "I Don't think there would be pictures in the house" So many were removed (theres still a few pictures in the living room.)

We notice that from the livingroom, we catch a glimpse of a broken drawer-handle from the kitchen. Also, on the desk in the living room is a muggle lamp with a lightbulb.
