  • FAKE. lol just kidding

  • first of all everaim you are an idiot and second lets see you think of a better idea for landing on mars

  • Is this a joke, or what? Before believing this bullshit, calculate for yourself the deceleration from 12,500miles/hr to nothing (even for the Mars gravity). Then calculate the pull on the parachute strings. The "free fall" stupidity then... what an ideea! Think about a material which resists, in solid state, at a temperature close to the sun's one (and inside the "room temperature"!). These guys neither know the temerature of the sun nor simple physics. That's batman technology.

  • im pretty sure they know of a material that does that. its not like they are making this shit up. they have landed the thing.

  • Get out of this place kid, go back to your mom. We don't want any conspirator that lives in a cave to come out claiming that they know everything when in fact you lack knowledge of just about every topic. Do your research you brainless fool.

Go back to you're "9/11 was attack by aliens" crap.

  • Those who tell us how stupid Americans are, seem not to have much to say about this

  • Head out of ass, please. This is a human endeavour, not an American one.

  • There are no Americans in this, but Russians, Romanians, Indians, Chinese etc

  • What are you talking about? This is a NASA project. NASA is a US government agency. Mission Control is the JPL in California.California is in the United States. Most of the funding, technology, and scientists come from America. Your probably in the first grade so I will patiently answer any more questions or idiotic statements you have brewing in your little brain

  • oh, yes, you're right! the americans provided the location, indeed.

(and i suspect that the money is jewish...)

  • I suspect that you are dumber than a bag of rocks

  • then you are not more than a suspecter

  • @LITEBRITE65 What's sad is, according to his youtube page he's 51 years of age. It's too bad he's so fulla mental barriers and bad education that he doesn't realize entry of this kind is done all the time with space shuttles, at an even higher velocity.

  • yeaaa it landed saftly on may 25th i saw it on daily planet

  • So far so good. Wonder what velocity had the lander on touch down. Kudos for Loocked Martin - mission accomplished for them.

  • down!! and running

  • Wow i'm glad the landing was a success!!!! I wonder if there doing any Top Secret stuff with this mission!!!!

  • 18 hours and counting!!! =)

  • btw, NASA says on their news briefings a couple days ago that ice should be 5 or 6 inches under the soil and that the soil at the Phoenix landing site is about 60% water ice according to the 3 orbiters still working around Mars.

  • They should have landed next to some of the Pyramids in Cydonia on Mars or between the pyramids and the Face on Mars if they're really looking for something! But good luck with the mission anyways, should have used air-bags, my fingers are crossed for ya!

  • There's nothing there, why send a probe to analyse the surface there? There are plenty of good pictures of that region already.

  • "why send a probe to analyse the surface there? There are plenty of good pictures..."

    1. Since when are "pictures only" sufficient for sub-surface scientific inquiry?

    2. This isn't a "sight-seeing mission". Don't confuse this for the Viking lander. There's a good reason this spot was chosen to land and dig-around in. Duh!

  • because the pictures are from the libyan desert;

    why to pretend that they land it near the pyramids when they don't have pictures with pyramids; then to show what;

  • "should have used air-bags"

As the mission directors said, "landing with airbags is an embarrassing and crass way to land. Landing thrusters are the only way any self-respecting alien wants to go."

But seriously, big-ass airbags mean a way smaller lander. That won't do for this mission.

  • my money is on its sucess!! $50.00 of so please dont crash phoenix

  • We can do this (I know ... it hasn't landed safely yet, but I'm confident) but we can't seem to mass produce a $20,000, 100 mpg plug-in hybrid electric car? Or criss-cross the country with TGV-like high-speed trains?

  • COOL!!!! ☺

  • JPL is the champion when it gets to EDL - as shown with Oppy and Spirit.

    Go Phoenix.

  • 1 month to go

    oyeah :D

  • Yet another cool video. Who said science isn't cool?

  • @FredSpade ShhhhhhuuuuuuuugggerrRr!!!

  • Videos u've been posting are always fascinating to me me. Thanks. Have a great weekend. Stephen.

  • Awesome technology! Thanks for posting these very good informational videos.

  • It's going to melt whatever ice it lands on.

  • Yeah, and why not use the balloon-style landing that they know works? Money perhaps...

  • i heard that theres no ice where theyre sending phoenix. its like northern canada.
