  • I'm gonna try something like this when I build mine but I'm gonna put a Pickup in it

  • it rules! one of the best stompbox i'v seen! well, i would feel bad if i steal your idea and i'm searching for my own stompbox concept, but i wonder what sort of pick ups are using here? simple piezo?

  • I've watched a number of these DIY stomp box videos and I think you've come up with the best sounding design, and probably the cheapest to boot. I may steal your ideas, but also install a pickup inside of it.

  • Dude, you come up with the best sounding stomp boxes

  • I love it. Glad I found your video

  • Adding that license plate was a brilliant idea. I just added one to my own stompbox (built out of a similar box to the one you use). It sounds great! Thanks for making this vid!

  • You have some wonderful ideas, Todd.

  • thanks so much Ken.....some of these guys and gals who build and talk on the cigar box guitar forums have amazing ideas....just amazing :)

  • Awesome thing!

  • thanks so much :)

  • great idea

  • thanks friend...it works pretty well for what i'm doing....next percussion thing might be an old hard walled suitcase with a kick pedal attached to it :)

  • You need one more foot! Sounds cool.... I've gotten a nice cedar "hanky" box from Savers a while ago. I think I'm making a hanky-box uke out of it at Thanksgiving. Thanks for the creativity!

  • you have Savers?!!! that's the best thrift store in my area....that's where i found this box....and some great tins....

oh and the goodwills here have 50% off of everything in the store every other Saturday :)

  • now that's just neat!

  • thanks Russ :)

  • very cool sounding stomp box, very inventive.

  • thanks Ken :)

  • Todd, you appear to flush more creativity down the john every day than I produce in a week. Wonderful music, cool homemade instruments...if I had more sense I'd be jealous! Instead I will just admire.

  • ha ha ha ha!!!

thanks for the encouragement...truth be known, some of this stuff is just therapeutic for me.....i'm not very mechanically inclined, i'd say i've got just a pretty 'o.k.' knowledge of my work field, but this stuff (music and what not) is what i think about most of the time....

  • I likey, too!

  • thanks Lonna and thanks so much for the encouragement regarding the interview with woodshed....it was fun!

  • Great idea! Good way to recycle, too.

  • Thanks for the tip--I have just such a box!

  • have fun....and post it!!!

  • That sounds great, Todd. Door thingees look like strike plates for a lock set.

  • ha ha....yes, strike plates....strike plates...thanks Bruce :)

  • If you ever give up music you have a great future in France stomping grapes:-)

  • would they have me?

  • With that pumping leg action definatey

  • Nice one. The nearly screwed down plate is a similar principle to the snare part of a cajon, if you've come across them. Sounds great

  • Hi Mark,

i've heard of and seen Cajons, but i didn't realize that...

    coolness...cheers,

    todd
