if im not mistaken, they do that so that the hair on the back and head gets real course and wiry

The grooming that a mini recieves actually makes the coat much softer but it also loses color. As a puppy the mini has kind of have a brownish color to its coat but after being groomed they lose that brown. Also they mini can have its ears cropped (cut to make them pointy and stand up right) and their tails docked (cut short). All of the changes do not really have any purpose except for show.

They're having troubles getting up the steps because they're chubby, clumsy puppies, all puppies are like this for quite a while. If you look at the dish it's been eaten out of already and it was full. They're being fed plenty.
