  • it will be nice when its finished, you will remember every nut and bolt

  • hang in there, dont quit when the resto gets rough cause it will

  • Dude, this is spooky. My project (a '70 Charger 500) is almost identical to yours, same original options (no AC, 8 3/4" sure grip and wrong color, otherwise pretty much spot on), rust in the exact same spots (what is up with the holes in the top of the rear quarters? what gives?!) and gutted in the same way. I'm thinking a cross between George Poteets insane NASCAR-style '68 and the DP car, stripped down and pissed off with 440/727 power. I share your pain and sweat, good luck with her :-)

  • Thanks bro! This car was sitting for Im guessing around 25 years behind a barn rotting, but the front clip was pretty good- all things considered. And at the cheap price , it was beggin to be saved. The quarter tops baffled me to, but they are fixed now. You sound like you got a cool project going on there, good luck with yours as well. Im glad another is saved!

Mine's to far gone for resto but great for what I wanna do.

    Peace

    -M

  • Neat car! A 1970 Charger SE! Rarer color combo as well. Looks to be F8 green with a tan interior. Haven't seen too many of those. That car came factory with a woodgrain dash since it is an SE car. I see the woodgrain steering wheel is still there. I would love to see find a 1970 440 to stick in it. That would sure beat the hell out of the original 318 that this was born with. This was a 318 car right? I noticed the motor and that it had an 8 1/4 rearend. I have 15 Dodge Chargers myself. See ya!

  • Yea it's a 1970 charger 500SE. I heard they made less than 3000 of them '70. It was F8 green with the black vinyl top, light group, bucket seats, pedal dress up, console shift automatic, tan interior color, woodgrain wheel, and factory a/c. It had alot of neat options but way to far gone to restore and alot of the good stuff mentioned was gone when I got it. It does have the 8 1/4 rear w/ 2.71 rear axle.

  • I was planning a nice little 367ci small block w/ a 904. But I may forgo that for a 383 magnum with a 727. But Id rather have a 4 speed setup but way to expensive to convert it.

  • very awsome CHARGER!!!the american muscle cars are the best!!here in brazil the charger has 318 engine, but its cool too!!congratulations!!

  • awsome car! are you going to put an interior in it? what about a rollbar. or are you just going to paint it black and put some wheels on it. and when you finish don't try to kill hot girls driving hotter cars.

  • Well it will have some interior but not much. I wont be trying to kill any hot ladies using the charger, but instead Id rather be picking them up, lol. Flat black with the correct wheels is the plan. Thanks for your comment and watching the vid.

  • Awesome project 70 is my favorite year of Charger because the theres no divider in the grille and the taillights go all the way across the back. can't wait for part 2

  • I love the '70's as well. I guess it's a matter of taste but I think 1970 was a great year for mopars. The rr,gtx, charger, super bee ,challenger, super bee, those were the days...Thanks for checking out my vid.Mopar or no car...

  • you get any farther on your charger i also got a 70 in poor shape but it has to wait untill my 65 plymouth fury with the 440 4 speed is back together check it out on myspace bigblockbryan is the urlmy charger will also be a 440 4 speed i love the response of the big block

  • Thanks for checking out my vid. My progress has slowed way down due to job loss. My dad had a black '65 fury III and that was a nice car. '65 looks way better than the '66's imo. I will have a look at your myspace when I get a moment. Mopar or no car!

  • I would give both my nuts to have a fully restored '69 Charger. What a beaut.

I know you got the duck, but are you, by chance, gonna add the skull and thunderbolts to the hood?

  • Well they used 68/9 and 1970 chargers in the film. If they werent '69's they made them look like '69's and mine is a '70...

I cant afford the '69 clip so Im keeping the '70 clip that way if someone else does a dp replica it wont look like mine. The '70 is just as cool as the '68/9 to me. Im going with the hood duck but this car will not have the skull on the hood. Only the novas used in the film featured those. Thanks for watching!!

  • I agree with him i would give anything including my nuts BEA-U-ITFUL AMERICAN MUSCLE..MOPAR OR NO CAR

  • AWESOME! Nice to see some of these brought back to life! Can't wait for the rest!

  • Great Car!

  • Thanks! Be sure to check out my duster video!

  • I think you're going to have a winner, here! What you've done already looks great! I bet you'll know every nut and bolt on this car by the finish! :) Jack

  • Thanks! Your comment is greatly appreciated. Very few people know what goes into something like this. This is a much better fate than the crusher! Thanks for checking the video out as well!

  • Just think of the satifaction you'll have when it's finished! You will know every detail

and appreciate the hours that it took to do this. You have truly rescued that car! :) Jack

  • Thanks again! But I cant take 100% credit. My friends have been incredible help! :)

  • Well that's really cool..nice that you can share this experience..they may go on to do something like this too! Nothing like spreading the knowledge! :) Jack

  • Plenty of work you have with this Charger :) I'm with you, man - You must bulid this car (and make it deathproof of course :D)!

  • NICE!
