  • Ron Starr must have used the term "snake in the grass" quite regularly because I remember him using the term when I watched him in Stampede.

  • Yes he was a gymnast and a pretty damn good wrestler he lives in Surrey BC now and is a Jehovah's witness, use to live down the street from him.He and his wife are very kind people.

  • Ron Starr, IMO, was one of the under-rated greats.

  • Eric Froelich really was a gymnast. My father gave him his start in wrestling after seeing him at a gymnastics exhibition.

  • Eric won 2 matches. Both bt DQ over Iron Mike Sharpe!!!

  • Rotten Ron Starr is my dad :)

  • @shad0walker5 yeah right he was a great face in portland I always wished in the mid eighties that he would come back for another northwest run. is he really your dad if so what is he doing these days

  • Yes he is really my dad... He's living in Alabama. Still with his wife "Peaches". His health isn't the greatest but he's still kicken!

  • @shad0walker5 I wonder what your dad's thoughts on portland are working for don owen and dutch savage and what a young roddy piper, buddy rose and adrian adonis were like...

  • @shad0walker5-I had the opportunity of seeing your dad wrestle about 5 or 6 times back in the 1980s. I really miss him and those days in wrestiling. We never had the opportunity to meet, but give him my regards.

  • Ha ha ha....Eric Froelich was a gymnast. Gymnasts are what 5'3"/5'4". He's easly 6'. I think that announcer just made that up. He's just another barefoot wrestler. Which seems more real anyway. I don't think that these boots did so much for the wrestlers.

  • ron starr was the champ for a time in frisco back in 78-79.

  • @fff1313 and a tag champ with adrian adonis in portland I think it was adrians and one of rons only face runs in any organization.

  • I think Eric Froelich was Tony Garea with a fake accent

  • Any date on this?

  • That move at 6:20 was brilliant....like something out of Rome circa 12 BC

  • al tomko should have let don owen and portland big time wrestling help him more they could have maid all star much bigger.

  • i use to wach all star every saturday night , this brings back lots memories , ty

  • he could cut a great promo for sure. i think Starr is David Shultz's cousin is he not?

  • Froelich has incredible legs, especially his thighs. I'd be in sheer heaven if he clamped em around my head and began some punishment. WOOF!

  • Any Froelich from 5-10 years earlier? He was a wrestling god....

  • Wow headscissor fans will like that nice series of scissors from 4:18 to 5:41. Strong legs on the guy in the red trunks

  • Fantastic, I totally agree....ashame we don't see more like it

  • I remember Ron Starr from Stampede Wrestling (where he worked as a heel), but I never saw him wrestle in Vancouver with All Star - and as a face, at that. Thanks for posting this, this is a good match.

  • I met Starr at the PNE Fair back in 1982 or 1983 when I worked there as a kid. He was wearing a stampede wrestling shirt.

I liked "Rotten" Ron Starr on Stampede when he was with Honky Tonk Wayne. They were called the Memphis Mafia.

  • was he really wrestling with a dislocated shoulder? there was definitely some deformity there. anyway it will still great wrestling! thanks for posting!
