  • Cape Verde All Day ! ♥

  • I'm also Cape Verdean. Gaining our independence has nothing to do with what continent we're on. Cape Verde's an archipelago but it's still part of the African continent. So when people ask us what we are, it is both correct to say we are from the country Cape Verde and the continent of Africa. The reason we look the way we do is because racially we are a mixture of Africans and Portuguese. I also don't like it when I'm labeled as just black, but I embrace that I'm black AND European, & proud too

  • Wow . Why are u embarrased of being African ? Just because we speak in a mixture of Portugese ans Spanish DOES NOT mean that ur not African . Cape Verde is a country of Africa which lmeans that we are africans. So PLEASE stop . Cape Verdians are african . Plus Cape Verde isnt even close to Portugal . Why would u say " more so Portuguese" wow . Unare ashamed of ur being african . Smh

  • i love this video soooo much! im 100% cape verdean & i agree w/ everything your saying...thank you for this video :*

  • Spanish music sucks, it all sounds the same. Langauge itself also isn't the best for songs. if it were, it would be world wide like English. In China and Russia, along with India, I heard English songs, not spanish songs. Reason again, they suck..

  • @Romulan112

If you have no "Real Knowledge" on the Latin culture then I suggest that you either not voice your ignorant opinions and spare your apparent lack of knowledge or educate yourself on the matter. Latin music is world wide and as big in such countries as CHINA, INDIA, AND MAJOR PARTS OF EUROPE. In fact China and Japan have their wildly famous salsa groups as well as a big following in Bachata. I would do some research before you respond to this message. 100%Boricua

  • @meatreyes wHERE DO u GET THIS CRAP of latin music being world wide. I give you that but only in spanish speaking countries. But for India or China? come on, no way is salsa real big over there. I mean not to just pick on spanish (latin) music. Also, Chinese and Indian music also sucks. Turn on the radio in THE USA and you won't hear Chinese or INdian music. YET, go over to Calcutta and flip around on the radio stations and I would bet you will hear english songs being played

  • I respect you more since this video

  • im puerto rican & i think its cool u listen to our music we party hard so u shuld find a good group of latinos to party with :)

  • you mean African of Portuguese descent? and those people who say you are trying to act "black" are just ignorant what the hell is acting black i don't get it America is so lame in so many ways anyway DO YOU thats all

  • I feel the same.. Im Puerto Rican and i love to listen

to Japanese, Korean and even a little French.

Sometimes i find myself hiding it from others.

But I decided to let people think what they want,

and i will continue to listen and eventually learn how to

    sing along. x D

    thanks for uploading.

  • Cape Verde is recognized as an African country and is part of the African Union. Majority of the inhabitants are mixed race and even you yourself have black features (broad nose, full lips, dark eyes, coarse hair). Embrace that part of your heritage. Black is beautiful!

  • look we all are people,, n we live n breath, do yeah who care what race anyone is,, idc if someone is blue if u like that person then keep it wheres it at, dont bring race into the picture im mixed yes but to the human eye im black, but wat do that have at do with anything? nada.. let the gurl be who she is.. she's not harming u in anyway..

  • lol, i understand you i am puertorrican and most cape verdians think im from cape verde, but everything you saying doesnt make sense.

  • Cape Verde is it's own nation... it gained it's independence from Portugal... it's also a second world country not a third world... NOT AFRICA, NOT PORTUGAL

know how i know that it's a nation... look up nations least likely to got to war.. Cape Verde is the second from last haha.. cheers

  • Hallaluja to you menina!

mim tambe ppl driving me crazy with this shit..xD

  • lol Yeah and not just black ppl (Blk Americans) go all out on the nail part a lot of of other people are into that too like Japanese and Koreans etc. Anyway keep doing you and I think it's cool that you embrace other people and cultures it shows how open minded you are. Big ups to that. I think you are beautiful inside and out Queen! (^_ ^) ♥

  • People are just ignorant, don't listen to anyone who says that to u girl.

  • not gonna lie i thought you was lol. but thats whats up your from CV where im from there so many cape verdian, puerto ricans and portuguese people. ay the people who are talking shit pay no mind there just hating cuz your beautiful do you do your thing. im puerto rican light skin with green eyes and ive had people tell me i am or look white but im not so i feel you on why people say your this and not that...@RIVERA_2587

  • so what? not african.what is your problem... you are not trying be black you are black.

lol you need to study geography, you are African. i like your voice and you are beautiful... i am cape verdean too and most people think i am Hispanic. you don't need to give us latitude and longitude where is cape verde just say i am from Cape Verde, where is it? Africa simple as that or are you trying to make your video longer?

  • @esmaelhbr No, smart ass, I wasn't tryinq to make my video lonqer. Lol. Just tryinq to qet my point across. -.- And I qot technical w| it b|c I know some people who will ask that question and NO, we are not a part of Africa, we qained our own independence. If that were the case when people asked what we were, we would just say African and not Cape Verdean, which we ARE. And we're OFF the West coast of Africa, NOT in it. Soooo yea! (: Educate yourself, sweetheart.*

  • @CvQueen1993 if i was you i would delete this video (just trying to help you), go out ask a simple question to any British, Portuguese, Spanish any European "where are you from?" they will not say I am from Europe. i understand you. you need to learn the difference between continent and country. you need to educate yourself about us. don't forget your black side.

  • @CvQueen1993 Plus CV was owned by Portugal until 1972. So its a portuguese country, not African.

  • @BeachBabi1o1 Exactly, that's when we qained our independence. Why do you think when people say I'm African, I say no, I'm Cape Verdean. If they wanted to qet technical, I'd list ALL the different ethnicity's that equal "Cape Verdean". Dutch, Hispanic, French, Portuquese, and more. -__-

  • @CvQueen1993 I agree with you, I'm Cape Verdean and Portuguese too, so I know exactly how you feel -_-

  • @BeachBabi1o1 um during the colonization days, countries in africa were either owned by Portugal,France & England.I'm angolan, brazilian & portuguese, all portuguese countries.angola just like cape verde is in africa was colonized by portugal,we have the same culture, food etc.i even have cape verdean fam members.and they all consider themselves cape verdean, but they will still say they are africans why?cause africa is NOT a country its a continent.it may not be IN IT but its still apart of africa.

  • @CvQueen1993 Africa is a continent not a country. LOL It's an island off of Africa. And well I dont know too much about it or it's people whether they consider themselves African or not. The one Cape Verdean guy I know considers himself African. And the islands off of Africa are part of Africa. Like Canary Islands is in Africa geographically speaking. But in terms of culture, and politics, not in the slightest is it African.

  • @CvQueen1993 Im sorry what? honey, im portuguese. and cabo verde was for a while a colony of portugal but later gained its independence. still, its a country part of the african CONTINENT. so if u cape verdean, u african!

other than that i feel wat u sayin u gotta stay true to wat u are. propi!

  • @CvQueen1993 I;m sorry honey but i feel ashamed of you. I'm Capeverdean and we're africans. Just because we're lightskinned and mixed with portugese doesn't make us not african we're creole. You should be proud to be an african. Read what Amilcar Cabral did for us, angola, mozambique and Guinee- Bissau. Here in Holland all CapeVerdeans aknowlegde that we're africans, Y'all Capeverdeans in the US is messed up. Know our history honey. Bless my sister

  • I'm cape verdean too an ppl judge me for puerto rican jus becuz the way I luk an dress I feel the same

  • Why would U want to listen to spanish music? it sucks pure and simple. it all sounds the same.

  • @Romulan112 u suck ass && u probably have no rythem thats why u dnt listen to spanish music cuase you cant dance

  • Alot of Puerto Ricans according to a census poll that live in the 50 states call themselves mix or Mulatto as compared to white only or black only or native american only. The spanish population in the americas, even though they owned slaves at one time, have a longer and prouder history of mixing with the african population than the british population or other northern european populations in america. Many americans of northern european ancestry even today have a problem mixing the races.
