High taxes, only 1 children's hospital in a province of 4 million, high crime stats, several gangs who think nothing of shooting it out in malls or where innocent people are working or driving, plus it rains all the time, the traffic is a joke... BC has a superior health care system which is relflective in the fact we have overall lower wait times than Alberta. Higher Dr to patient ratio, and we live longer. As for crime, actually according to Statis Canada, Alberta has more crime. As for cost of living - I suggest you look at CANSIM from Statistics canada which factors in cost of living for everything from Real Estate to taxes to cost of consumer good. Vancouver comes in at one of the cheaper places Canada and well well below Toronto

Taxes are slightly higher than the US, but we have superior social programs with a superior standard of living.. Respond to this video... The U.S. enjoys vastly more cultural freedoms and diversity of opinion. Unlike in Canada where they feel threatened by far-right pundit Anne Coulter and would not allow her back. Canada also banned Fox News for a long time and are threatened by diversity of opinion. Some freedom in Canada. The U.S. also has a black President while Canada only elects people of European descent. Some diversity in Canada.

@NLR884evr Speaking of diversity... Vancouver has been affectionately referred to as "Hongcouver" due to it's overwhelmingly Asian (Chinese) population. Yeah there's a little bit of everyone, but a whole lotta Chinese. Any tourist from the 2010 games saw that first hand. I have read the govt is lax on terror groups since they need their votes. Weren't Sikhs instrumental in the Air India tragedy?
