Besides, there's no massive difference, in terms of morality, between an "honour killing" and an innocent 13 year old kid getting accidently killed in a drive-by.
Plenty of murders occur all the time and the media (especially American media, I might add) has a field day cookie cutting the ones they show and the ones they avoid.
Don't use the "religion" argument either. There's no mainstream religion that tells people to kill others.

Extremist people "honour" kill other people and either have a warped enough mind to believe they're doing it for their religion, or they're using their religion as an excuse. I'm sure if someone were to do a survey, they'd find just as many (percentage-wise) Christians and Buddhists murder as Muslims- and that the differences would be well explained by the areas most of the people of these religions live in.

@Maddolis In the bible, you're supposed to kill: brides who are not virgins (on their father's doorstep), disobediant children, gay men, witches, incestuous people, people who have sex with animals, whores, people who blasphemy the lord, people who don't listen to priests, people who worship other gods...yadda yadda. I mean, I'll find the bible verses if you want, but my list is mostly fairly common knowledge. Are you telling me you've never heard of any of these?

I understand your point of view, and I agree - the majority of muslims are not murderers. But the koran advocates violence, so all it takes for a muslim to become a murderer is to take their holy book more seriously. (same with most religions, unfortunately). I own the koran, but it's harder to read, because Allah spends most of it complimenting himself. >.<

I'm relatively familiar with the bible, I went to a catholic church for about 12 years so I know the gist of it pretty well- my opinion on it is that the bible isn't a rulebook, rather it's just a set of guidelines- and these guidelines are in sync with modern morality- respect your parents, respect your brothers, respect others, don't sleep with your friends' wife/girlfriend etc. I don't take it like "praise god or go to hell."

Men who find their wives cheating on them, some kill them, some beat them, others may just simply leave. It depends on the emotional impact of the betrayal on the partner.
