  • Drop tune and ESP with EMG pickups is definitely the right solution for krank. A440 tune is good with Gibson, but you have to use some boosters. My choice is xotic EP booster. This goes well with jr kranks. If you want very high gain why not to pay 4-5 times more for bogner uberschall twinjet ?

  • I tend to agree with racer. I tried one out and the first thing that hit me is that you can't push the gain past 4 or 5 no matter the sweep or presence settings. It starts to squeal like a pig. So your stuck on a gain setting of about 12 o'clock. It truly is more of an edgy Fender than a true hi gain tone. I was playing a Les Paul tuned to A440. i then switched to a drop C tuned EPS guitar and that's where it came to life a bit better. A Mesa or even a L6 Spidervalve HD 100 MK II blow it away.

  • the truth might be in your hands also. some people cannot dig out the tone of krank but some people can. switch to your comfortoble amp and it might be MG also. Why not?

  • These heads SUCK. I bought one a little over a year ago with 2 1x12' Krank cabs and it sounded nothing like it was advertised to sound like. it is NOT a Ultra High Gain head at all . in fact, it sounds more like a Fender with everything pushed to 10 with shitty speakers. Just plane dirty with no redeeming tonal quality and horrible playability. Absolutely no relation to Dimebag's high gain tone. This was not even based on Dime's Randall tone. Even a lowly Marshall MG blows this amp away.

  • just imagine if dime was still alive and playing krank, his demos would be so awsome

  • haha look, it's the guy Dave Mustaine fucked up lol, he broke Sandoval's leg in order to protects Lars lol

  • @motorcrossguy94 is he the 1 in the red shirt?

  • @motorcrossguy94 No kidding cuz lars is a pussy

  • They are playing through 1x12 Krank cabs ....... Hook that amp up to a decent 2x12 with V30's and they sound MUCH better.

  • As Much As I Love Armored Saint since 1983, and Used to Work with Jeff Duncan @ @ G.C. #116 back in 1998 for A Short Time, I Have To Say These Krankenstein Jr Amps Sound "Too Soft" Distortion & Tame! Both He Jeff & Phil Really Do Jam Together, Even Though These Amps Almost Sound Like An Amplified Acoustic Tone!

  • @hyena667 lol too tame? I really don't understand what you are talking about... I almost don't understand what you're trying to say either..

  • @MyLifeChanger I think he's saying it sounds to soft both distorted and clean.

  • @MyLifeChanger *Too

  • @MyLifeChanger I get what he is trying to say I think- he is a troll, thats my best guess haha.
