It bugs me that they keep saying it was the Grandmother poisoning them. It was Corrine-their mother. Olivia-the grandmother was bringing the desserts to them, always warning them not too eat them because it would "Rot their teeth". Corrine admitted to poisoning them.

I though this was kind of juvenile, most because of the poor acting, though the storyline was a let-down as well; romanticising childish feminism or 'girl power'. Coppola made an incredible leap from this to The Virgin Suicides, which is admirable.

@minusthebrittany i agree but part of me thinks that the acting isn't even that bad - i remember being 12 or 13 and i remember everyone being affected and bizarre just like these girls - it's that thing of in one way really wanting to fit in and/or stand out but not having the self-awareness, self-esteem or means to do either of those things successfully and just looking like an idiot instead.

well for the purposes of the film it's kill the rats backwards but if you think about it lick would be "kicl" not "kill" and "the" wasnt reversed so the only part of it that works is the rats.
