  • The safe jumps are everything.

    -Ryu

  • guile got robbed

  • again at 1:26 super ryu shinannigan

  • What do you mean Super Ryu Shenanigan? every character can safe jump not just Ryu.

  • OMG i didnt even see that one. How did he block after whiffing the jump in kick...its obvious that using RYU gives a distinct advantage.

poor guile. hes talented but sometimes get jipped by Hadouken boy magic.

  • yep Ryus foot is out and passing through Guile as he initiates his super...

logically Ryu has to land after retracting his foot...but NO!

    He immediately blocks....wtf????????????

  • It's called a safe jump.

Actually, pulling off two of those in one match is quite impressive.

  • at 0:22 if you pause it....Ryu has his foot out in the jump kick animation while Guile is already into his super flash animation and STILL Ryu blocks it....wtf is that.

If thats not the right time to do Guile super move, then what is?

    I call shenannigans on that.

  • It's a Safe Jump.

  • The idea is, you have to know when a jump has been timed to land safe, so pulling off moves that leave you vulnerable is not a good idea.

Instead let the jump in hit or block, then predict either a throw and counter or reverse the next move.

  • You shouldnt have to play at ryu's mercy....you should be allowed to be just as aggressive as he is...but nope...If Ryu whiffs a hadouken he has time to block...if guile whiffs flash kick hes open for two hours.

  • But the safe jump works for everyone ?

Im guessing you play Guile and don't like Ryu very much lol. Its a difficult match for Guile because Ryu has a tool for everything, but so do you, thats just a match up of out turtling, or who dares wins.

  • Your comparing whiffing one of Ryu's fireballs to whiffing one of Guile's flashkicks when you should be comparing those flashkicks to Ryu's shoryuken uppercuts. If he whiffs an uppercut, then he too is also open for an attack. As for the fireballs, if Guile whiffs a sonic boom he too has time to block. It's all fair game, why do you think ST has stood the test of time so well?

  • Yeup :)

The game is well balanced, there is a counter for most things and every character has their bad match ups and good match ups.

But O.Sagat is broke imo ! He has a set up that allows players to surpass their skill level, even if he is beatable, those tigers are too fast !

  • Well that wouldn't be so much of a problem if O. Sagat's recovery time wasn't so damn fast. it's like he can keep his fast fireballs, but I timed my air attack over your fireball perfectly, just as you threw it, and you still recover in time to tiger uppercut me. Not faiir!!

  • Yea that whole set up.

  • lol

You think st is balanced ?

    xDDDDD you have no clue

  • To have a clue, i would of have to of played it least a few times.

But no, i have played it competitively and it is balanced enough to be played competitively.

Despite the known issues, why do you say it is unbalanced ?

  • It works on everyone except for Ken and Blanka. Ken's fierce and Blanka's vertical ball hits on the 1st frame.

  • apples to oranges. classic example here guys...check it out! Have a good laugh.

  • why are you comparing a projectile to an anti-air attack??

Do you understand the game of streetfighter?

  • you seem to do. I was wondering, how is Ryu better then ken when all of his Specials only hit once and Kens hit several times?

  • Well, i think that depends on playing style...

But i prefer Ryu over ken, Ryu is a more solid player, has a faster fireball, and i believe ryu has a quicker recovery from fireballs. Ryu's special can hit long range, Ryus specials are one hit, but they are stronger.

Ken is a aggressive fighter. He can Dragon Punch faster, and cover more space with his DP. he has a faster spin kick, which is better for crossups. Kens super has to be close range unlike Ryus.

I think Ryu is more solid tho.

  • @th3major I was nodding my head till you said, "Ken's super has to be close range, unlike Ryu's" (I fixed some errors).

  • Because of pretty much everything else.

  • yaeh, i noticed that when i switched

  • omg nice safe jumps

  • safe jumping = crucial !!
