its just that genki sudo (the one with the shorts) is known to fuck around in the ring and do wierd moves. but he is (was) very much a real fighter, both in K-1 and MMA. just watch his fight against butterbean, he likes to put on a show

no offense, i trained in tkd as well, and have to say is really not a deadly martial art. Kick, punches are fancy looking, but lack power big time. some kicks are still useful like the sidekick, but thats about it. Tkd is an olympic sport, and tkd artist just train to kick fast to get points, but in real street fight, nope. I do muay thai now, not saying is better, but are more practical and martial arts like JKD also are useful and deadly.

Spinning techniques rarely work in a real fight. Sure if it hits, that's a lot of force you hit someone with. And I've seen a few times where someone landed one and knocked someone down.

But really, it's also high risk. Keeping someone in your sights is much better. And why would anyone need a spinning technique when a good old hook punch or uppercut can do the same job far more reliably and with far less risk?

Straightforwardness is best if you ask me. Fancyness is just risky.
