piano solo didn't say anything to me... technically, the guy is insane! just didn't fit in my opinion.... Wynton or Wess didn't loook they were diggin it either
Man, Lewis's solo goes absolutely nowhere; I bet that's why they left this one off the album. The others sound great, though, Marsalis in particular. And "Live at the House of Tribes" is a fantastic album; check it out if you haven't already.
Boy, this kinda stuff loses nothing to the "good ole days" when Jazz was fresh. Wynton and the entire band -- not to mention the audience -- put it together to give us fresh, one-of-a-kind, perfect-in-itself personal expression, via music, that is where all (?) music and other expression should be. Bravi!! What a joy. Thanks, also, to Houseoftribes.
4:45, he vibrattos trippelets within eightnotes! thats some serious hand control! this whole song, all the solos, its just awesome!!! oh i love this music so much!
Wynton Marsalis is awesome. His trumpet playing here is so unique and original. I love it. Even the crowd are up for it. I need to see this guy live. Glasgow or UK gig, I'll be there
Wynton´s playing is like, if you don´t know where you come from, you don´t know where you stand and than you just don´t know where you goin´.....lead the way...
Simply put - - - cold blooded, and what idiot said the piano solo was nothing? That was one of the best parts.

@BuddyBolden It could just be that he's so quiet in this recording, the audience members are louder than him...

@BuddyBolden listen again man, ELEW's solo is different, but it has harmonic direction. Nice try.

I can say that statement better. I would give anything to play WITH these guys. Imagine what that would be like, jammin' with Wynton.
