  • Lol I was watching this and at 3:30 I switched to another tab and then I hear a familiar voice that I love! Mary Tyler Moore! Hahaha.. I love both of them!

  • Im 14 and I love watching I Love Lucy and this really made me cry, it's just hard to believe that someone who brought so much joy died at such an early age. I wish some people could live forever.

  • 7:05 Either the toast magically popped out of thin air or somebody is behind Desi tossing the toast to Lucille.

  • I miss Lucy

  • i so remember the day she passed away as a day that everyone felt a deep sorrow and the news about her passing was everywhere in the media.....in fact I said, it was like the biggest passing of a celebrity since John Kennedy who of course was a politician........everyone experienced the loss of her that day.......moumental, would be putting it mildly......to this day in June of 2011, has there ever been a day similar to the passing of Lucille Ball.................

  • @henry12397 Michael Jackson's passing was just as big, if not, bigger. Lucy touched our lives (mostly in US and a few other regions), but Michael's passing was a shockwave across the globe.

  • @Vehement00 , Michael Jackson's death was shocking because it was so unexpected -- he wasn't even sick and he was about to go on tour -- and he was so young, and there was all kinds of drama about how he died, questions about whether he murdered, etc. Lucy had been in the hospital for a week with serious heart problems (had gone through open-heart surgery) and had had a stroke the year before, and was almost 78. Her death was only shocking in the sense that she'd been a presence for so long.

  • I was 11 when she died...and I remember my mom crying. She's always going to be remembered as a true star!

  • baltimore loves lucy too......always the funniest first lady on earth.

  • im only 14 and how i love lucy! my family always teases me when i watch t.v shows way back when. i always tell them there better then the crap shows they have on now! and i wanted to know is 6:51 an i love lucy episode and if it is can someone please tell me! :)

  • @xxooxxoo3394 , 6:51, where she's messing up her hair, is from the episode Lucy's Italian Movie. This is from the scene at the beginning when they're on the train and she's just met the Italian movie director.

  • I was also working on an ABC morning show at the time and heard of the news just prior to arriving at ET to do the daily ET show. Lucille Ball's daughter, Lucie, had been guest hosting the ABC morning show (The Home Show) just a week or two prior to Lucy's death. So that made it even more personal since I had worked with Lucie. I remember dressing Mary Hart in that dark colored but not too somber outfit out of respect for Lucy. ET had obits prepared ahead, but it was still a shock.

  • I remember this day. I dressed Mary Hart and John Tesh in those days on ET. Thanks for posting this. It brings back so many memories.

  • @DyneVan , thanks for your comment. If you have any memories you'd like to share about that day and doing this show, please do.

  • :'( </3

  • @StiltsGirl , Lucille Ball's mother was Dede Hunt Ball. Dede had only one sister, Lola Hunt Mandicos. And Lola Mandicos had one daughter, Cleo Mandicos Smith, who is STILL LIVING. Ms. Smith was the producer of Lucille Ball's series, HERE'S LUCY. They were always very, very close and even grew up in the same house. So it was never a secret Cleo was related to Lucille Ball. Unless your grandmother is Cleo Smith and your great grandmother was Lola Mandicos, then you're not related to Lucille Ball.

  • Thank you... I remember my mother telling me that Lucy had died and I think I cried for a week and couldn't go to school.... I LOVED Lucy so much and still do.

  • Great, audio restored - wonders never cease. Thanks for the head's up fkri2.

  • what are episodes 6:32and 7:52

  • i'm glad she's dead

  • @TracyAndersonFoxhunt , obviously you're not. You seem to spend all your time watching Lucille Ball videos, so you quite clearly love the woman and miss her very much. Either that or you're an incredibly stupid person, deranged, or a combination of all the above.

By the way, you used to go by TracyTerry before you got kicked off that account. Who will you be next when your trolling leads to this account being suspended?

  • Thanks for sharing I happen to be born just a little over a year before Lucys death and to this day her comedy continues to inspire and guide me, as well as make me and my family laugh. She truly is timeless and a great gift from god...

  • I'm only 15 and obviously Lucy was before my time (Before my parents' time even) but I love her so much. No amount of comedic talent that any one person might posses could ever equal Lucy's. She purely genius and amazing and there's honestly no way words can express how drastically she impacted...The world really.

Even though it's been 21 years since her passing, her legacy will live on forever. We truly do love you, Lucy.

  • What a disgrace to Lucy's memory to deny her fans the chance to hear these tributes

  • Hey YT...........why don't you just shut down the whole GD site? Oh wait, you're making mountains of money!!!

  • im only 17 but i grew up watching i love lucy...ricky reminds me so much of my older brother...i really wish i could have finished watching this special but the audio is taken out :/

  • very useful without the audio...thx for posting.

  • There really are some mean spirited SOB's faking being human & in control of what is in-effect pricelss public domain cultural history & heritage. Whoever ordered the pulling of the audio plug - you are a cockroach, & that's being unkind to cockroaches!

  • jesus titty fuckin christ... an unauthorized audio track... really?... really?...

  • This is sucks!

    Re-upload please :(

  • BOOOO!! FUCK YOUTUBE NOW!

  • ugh. well, at least i saw the first two parts with sound. :(

  • can you reulaod this video

  • WMG sucks!!!!

  • Well how disappointing is this??? I just watched the other 2 parts and was looking forward to seeing the conclusion. Turns out that all we get to do is SEE the conclusion. Ah well.

  • Comment removed

  • TO HEAR THE AUDIO, SEE COMMENT BELOW FROM Richii2. (Unfortunately, though, the best part of this show is the last few minutes, which is what WMG objected to because it includes music they own. And the person who posted the alternative suggested below had to delete that footage with the music in order for this not to be yanked again by WMG. Shame.)

  • YOUTUBE SUCKS!!! HOW CAN THEY REMOVE THE AUDIO FROM PT3 AND LEAVE IT IN ON PTs 1&2?

  • Youtube did this because of "WMG," which I think is Warner Brothers. The closing of this show features the song "Be a Clown," which I guess WMG owns. But someone uploaded this show without that closing (which was wonderful, by the way), so that way WMG can't touch it. Do a search for Entertainment Tonight - death of Lucille Ball, 1989 - pt 2 of 3 and Entertainment Tonight - death of Lucille Ball, 1989 - pt 3 of 3

  • I told you it was a heart attach those who do not know the history of Lucy and Desi please learn before you answer my coment thank you

  • She died of a ruptured aorta.

  • the day i found out she had died was october 17 2007 whille i was watching "i love lucy" on tv my mom came in and told me "u know she died right?" and i cried. • Legend There Will Never Be Another Like Lucy

  • Well i just fell in love with Lucy.

My mom always had me watching the show as a kid,i was born Feb.16th 1990 so i just missed lucy. A Lot of what is in this video i had never seen,it's so cool she stayed funny all that time she was such a badass. Girls today need to be like her, pick up some tips bitches lol.

Judy Holliday was someone else i liked from that era,she was funny too. But she died too soon to really show it.

    RIP Lucy 1911-1989

    RIP Judy 1921-1965

  • i love Lucy!

  • Thanks for sharing this. I remember when it was on in 1989. Great to see it again, even if it is with a tear in my eye!

  • i may have been born in 1993 but my mother has alway been in love with Lucy, and her show, i remember growing up, sitting with my mom on the couch and watching i love lucy, but knowing about her death, i just never wanted to believe that she was gone, but shes still alive for me, and for many other people, but she will still live on in our hearts, forever

  • I remember it like it was yesterday. So sad.

  • lucy is like my favorite person ever and there is no one like her or ever will be like her......guess how old i am?......11

  • You are proof that her comedy is timeless. She would have been so honored.

  • Unbelievable. The magic of I Love Lucy simply never fades. The show will surely go on forever because the humor is literally timeless.

  • Lucy was the best! Thanks for posting.

  • i'll never forget her....actually, i never knew she had died because i wasn't even alive when she was. but i love her...a comedic genious, and a sweetheart. i wont forget you!!!

  • I grew up on the "I Love Lucy" show, and remember all the laughs she gave my family and I over the years. I surely never lived when she was still alive, but her spirit still lives on today in everyone's heart.

  • It's sad that Lucy died. She was a wonderful person and a superb actress.

  • thanks for posting this i never saw it before ..im 14 and well obviously i didnt live through the lucy period but god do i love her. and now that shes gone, even i feel as if i lost my best friend

  • Thank you for your comment, Michelle. It's so nice to see someone your age who appreciates Lucy so much. It's a testament to how timeless her comedy is. It keeps going from generation to generation. I wonder if she could have ever imagined that she would still be gaining new fans long after her death, and from among people who were not even born during her lifetime. It's truly amazing.

  • Lucy...is...PRICELESS, there is no one who cannot replace her, this is truly someone who does care about people and came from humble backgrounds.

  • I think the reason her comedy is today still so well liked is because there was no major special effects back in those days...no CGI or anything like that. Pure raw comedy. Pure talent and a genuine love from Lucy towards her work and her fans.

  • yeah...i know what you mean. i was born in the 1990's, and i love Lucy so much. i love the way she'd just let herself go and act out the craziest things. i will love her forever.

  • @michelle092293 i agree! i'm 14 as well (although seeing as you posted this 2 years ago, you're 16 now) and can't express in words how much i love lucille ball.

  • I think the death not only sadden fans, but Trekkies, because she was a major force in starting the Star Trek franchise with TOS.

  • God I love her..Im practically obsessed with her..anyone that is unfamiliar with her work and the I Love Lucy show is missing out on an important thing in life.

  • wow i know what you mean..people say im obbsessed but ya know i think lucy is such a great person and not just to me but to everyone a idol hero and best friend at heart i love her truely i do

  • one of kind all love for LUCY

  • I don't think she realized how much she was truly loved.

  • Thank you for sharing this. We all love Lucy!
