What we disagree on was *method. For instance, we agree that intelligence is vital to defeat terrorist threats. But we may disagree over whether torture is permissible. Some advocate "divide-and-conquer" tactics- Nixon used those effectively against the Communist world. But others may see even *talking as "appeasement".

So. Liberals aren't against combating terrorism. We just disagree over the way it's done.
