  • ♥♥♥Trés bon cette tounne♥♥♥

  • I'm gonna ask you one more time..... where the fuck is Ringo?

  • This one helped keep me from losing my mind after my mother died. It was very cathartic to listen to it over and over.

  • awsome

  • sounds when Dirk Diggler returning to the movies...i have a idea of that returning is to gay porn movies, like a returning of John Holmes...and is a sad return, gettin AIDS and to die... GREAT MOVIE; PTA is DA MAN!!

  • Boogie Nights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I had the pre release green vinyl copy of this single (a bit larger than the 45s) in the summer of 1976 before the official release. These green vinyl copies were given to the radio stations prior to the official release. I should have held on to the bloody thing. I think they used to call them “asset tapes” but I’m not sure.

  • The leader of ELO claimed that their inspiration was to "pick up where the Beatles had left off". They sure as hell accomplished that goal!

  • They toured this album in 75 - I was 7. I must have been to 400 concerts since then, and the ELO gig still rates right up the list.

  • i've died and gone to heaven

  • Man, brings back the days of my youth! I am thinking 1975. Wow what a time!

  • Fucking Fucking great tune

  • Dirk Diggler, nuff said ;P

  • ELO is the world's BEST band ever... a kid 15 years old. I was AMAZED. And he is correct!!

But what i ask to the world is: why doesn't such a good band as ELO have a lot of fame, and a horrible kid like Bieber does???? God please make justice!

  • This song epitomizes the mid-70s...nearly destroyed my living thing during that time period of sheer decadence and hedonism. I still get chills when I hear this song and those strings!! Only ELO can deliver violins, cellos, bass, guitars in the rock symphonic manner it does. Saw them in concert in KC in '75. Lost part of hearing that night, but was worth it!!

  • thumbs up if 70's porn brought you here.

  • @madmike19682003 dont ya mean wood up

  • I cant believeit Saltillo estado de Mexico The living thing I was thinking nobody knows the livung thing

  • tune

  • Great music!!!

  • Is it just me, or does the into to this song sound like some kind of ethnic music you would hear in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, or Romania? I like it either way. :)

  • Awesome

  • classic!

  • @evilknavel This is from the mid 70's

  • @evilknavel this was in 1976 -77 ?

  • grwat song and incredible group. leaves the likes of todays groups standing.they cant even stay together for long.

  • Ill take it or die...cool chorus

  • i wish i had grown up with these songs but alas i was born in the wrong era

  • @MIKEY2193 90's had load of great music too. Unless you were born in the end of the 90's- beginning 2000... then you're screwed.

  • This makes me 16 again

  • Me 2 wwf

  • WWF brought me here

  • That solar powered flying saucer could work.

  • when it gets to the point in the song where he says "i'm takin a dive!", someone actually dives whilst saying exactly like the song.

  • Boogie Nights

  • Taking a dive

  • Thumbs up if your subconscious brought you here.

  • My name is Earl sent me here ;]

  • I remember this one from "My Name is Earl". I played this song over and over again when I quitted smoking. I used to smoke two packs a day.

  • Heard this on the radio way back in the day and one of the few songs that never got old or overplayed. Awesome melody and pace.

  • Oh yeah! Popping the 8-track into the car radio ( huh? what's an 8-track?), warm fall day out for a drive, head be-bopping, shoulders swagging, fingers tapping on the steering wheel, the road and a whole life ahead of me, good times =-

  • THANKS AGAIN!!! LOVE ELO!!!

  • @dmkkjvdr

    YEAAHHHH....... Ok then >_>

  • Sweet Memories of my Past growing up in the 70's and 80's

  • The Beatles DREAMED of playing like ELO

  • @MegaCamaras well I don't agree with you, the beatles invented the symphonic rock with revolver, sgt peppers... , after that, ELO made this and THEN, The Beatles dreamed of playing like ELO xD

  • @nekuphones333 Agreed, although it would have been fantastic for a Jeff Lynne Bev Bevan Beatles collaboration.

  • @fuwmg Well at least Jeff Lynne collaborated with Paul, on Flaming Pie! You can her ELO all over "Beautiful Night!"

  • Dirk Diggler is a star, a big, bright, shining star...

  • @mrJACKjjs Shut up, Dirk. I told you I got a plan. I got a very good plan. We want what is in the goddamn safe, in the goddamn master bedroom, in the fucking floor, in the goddamn fucking floor safe. That's all.

  • I love ELO , grew up listening to these coz my mum used to play their records (vinyls) all the time ... also thanx to the movie Paul for bringing this brilliant music back into our lives

  • It's , A Livin Thing

  • These guys were my very first concert ever. My sister got to see Elton John play the Garden in NYC during the Bi-Centential. I was 10 and my parents wouldn't let me go along. I cried and cried. The next year, ELO came around, and we BEGGED my parents to let me go along. I will never forget walking into a 20,000 seat arena for the first time in my 11 yrs. My jaw hit the ground. Then these guys came out of a flying saucer and I was sold on rock shows forever more, lol.

  • @servhymn66 SWEET!!!

  • If you love ELO you've got to hear the new single by Fyfe Dangerfield.

    "She needs me"

Give it a search on tube. There are so many comments about Jeff lynn having somethi8ng to do with it and the ELO reforming as well.

  • Elo, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, CCR, why do people nowadays not adore this music?

    It just baffles me.....

  • anti-abortion? thoughts?

  • @jambassfunk I don't think so.I have always thought of the "Livin' Thing" as a troubled relationship that the man is trying to save and the woman wants out.But how much do I really know?

  • @jambassfunk ... yep....

  • @jambassfunk ....... Miscarriage

  • Well done Blues .Beating the hammers KEEP RIGHT ON

  • this song just brings an infinite smile to my face.

  • Amazing how good this generation of music was. I try time and again to see what's new and if there is anything there. Hardly. I listen to the new music coming out on the radio, bands on talk show, whatever. Time and again, nothing, nothing, nothing. What's happened to good songwriting? Well, at least we have all the good music previous to 2000. Go ELO!

  • incredible song!

  • Hello Sir! Any extra time?

Some international viewers would like l a transcription, that is, a visual representation of the wording. Many of us do not have the original record. Now please dont get started. I am very much satisfied with your effort. Next is Telephone Line!

  • Billboard's #77 song of '77. ELO hit #13 pop, #36 AC in the US. How'd it do in the UK? God bless! Does Jeff Lynne keep his shades on all the time in tribute to his bandmate in the Wilburys, Roy Orbison? Somebody let me know.

  • @DaveWollenberg It was Top 5 in the UK...

  • gourgous song!!!keep on playing it over and over and over I love it so much!!!!

  • lol amazing song but i hate the backup singers >.<

  • @shadowzard7 puts the song together. Just trust elo's decision. They know best

  • @loopycow94 no im pretty sure the amazing lyrics and melody put the song together, not the annoying high pitched nonsense. and dont try to tell me whats best for my opinion

  • ELO is the classic music. I grew up with them. I am almost 50 years old and will never forget ELO. I saw them in concert in Miwaukee on the Time Tour and it was unforgettable. Thanks to the Band for and unforgettable performance. My friend and I will never forget you had dinner at the same time as we did. And I was too chcken to get your autograph. But it was great to see the whole band there in front of us. Th show was so great and I will never forget it. Long live ELO!

  • @TheLaluna1 What a great post, I agree, they're fantastic. I had a similar experience when I saw Hil Harper from CSI New York in Baltimore, he was lovely and smiley but he was eating with his friend, and he smiled at me, but I didnt' have the guts to put down my fork and talk to him, damnit!

  • @TheLaluna1 i gave oral to a homeless guy

  • @TheLaluna1 I´m 61 and feel the same for ELO, it ´s my favourite band, eventhough I listen to lots of really good ones

  • LETS TURN BACK THE CLOCK SO WE WON'T HAVE TO BE SCARRED WITH THE MUSIC WE HEAR ON THE RADIO TODAY!

  • There is no similar. It's fantastic. Listen again and again. I'm maniac of ELO. You will be same.

  • Its still class,

  • Mike Edwards, thank you for sharing your wonderful talents <3

  • I been to alot of opera's. I think it would be a trip if ELO came out with this intro. Them got into this. It would be classic.

  • I fckn love ELO!!

  • @titan52berg agreed the moody blues are a class act but here is a list of elo classics:- livin thing, sweet talking woman, calling america,mr. blue sky, telephone line,so serious, the way lifes meant to be,ticket to the moon, evil woman, sweet is the night, summer and lightning, confusion, dont bring me down, etc, etc.you must admit the list is endless.

  • I dont hear any new music with any real creativity. Its seems to be the same old cookie cutter formula that has been regurgitated to the point of obsolescene. I keep going back in time to find "new" music I havent heard before. Every now and then, a pop jingle surfaces that isnt totally horrible, but it fades quickly.

  • @dasboot19801 Todays generations are softer than cookie dough, so a cookie cutter style is just about right for them. BTW, the end is near...
