I've seen vinyl only DJs who can't mix to save their lives and play crap tunes, and I've seen laptop DJs press auto sync and blandly segue from one track to another. Then I've seen DJs like Ben mix perfectly on 3 turntables, and DJs like Richie Hawtin push Traktor to its limits. It's not the tool - it's understanding it deeply and using it to its potential. That's what makes a good DJ

@chickenfist666 dumbass... automated dj software leaves room for live input such as a maschine. Also it gives a lot more time to fuck around with more layers of effects. Yes Ben Sims is a fucking human machine. A Laptop DJ that just clicks a few buttons is isnt a DJ i have to agree :). Myself i use the machine for live-input & use synthezisers. If i play with 3 deck vinyl i cant do as creative as with a laptop. The DJ's that plays with a laptop at awakenings are just as much DJ's as this guy.
