Somehow this catches the eeriness of the streets of christchurch of the streets better than any news report. It reminds me of walking around the CBD and hearing, in the middle of a built up city, the kind of absolute silence you'd normally only hear in a forest or out in the wilderness. Amazing vid!

It wasn't the earthquake that was the problem in Japan as all buildings and other man made structures there, are generally designed to withstand earthquakes as it is so common due to the fact Japan sits on the meeting point of 3 tectonic plates. It was the tsunami that distroyed so much, if you were to look at the distruction it caused you'd realise that it's unskateable as the tsunami completely demolished whole towns and villages, mostly all thats left is debris and mud,etc
