@unokilo321 Yeah, Woolworth's stores went into liquidation not so long ago. I think they only exist now as an online business. Woolworth's was amazing when I was a child. As you've pointed out, they sold everything from games, music to clothes! I don't remember our store having a cafe, though.

my parents got me a triceratops for xmas one year, I wanted it so bad after seeing this advert, im not sure I had even seen the program itself, but yeh this commercial sold them on their own, unfortunately I unwrapped it xmas day to find half of the bits missing, we took it back and they had sold out and were never to return :( im still sad I never got to play dino-riders now. Everyone is so right! These toys were expensive. In the late 80's, when the cartoon stopped airing and the toy line came to an end, I recall local toy stores dropping the price. One toy store, Lionel's Play world, had many of these discounted. I went back on pay day, and some where gone, but I cleaned house on the rest. I even ordered some from Tyco, delivered by UPS. I must have between 7-10 of them. I can not recall how many were made. Great toys!

These were GREAT toys (but yes, expensive!) and yes, one of those "perfect" marketing pitches I'd have loved to see: "Wanna know what will sell more toys than dinosaurs? Dinosaurs blowin' each other away with laser cannons! Sweet, huh?"

Onotarh, I'd bet the "ridiculous voices" were at least in part thanks to Frank Welker (Kurlos), vocal legend that he is! :)
