the casinos rewand atlantic city. I went there and it was nothing like it used to be. The tales of traveling down a road to see only beutiful ocean is now false. When I went there all I saw where drugeys. Sure, Its nice in some parts but then you get to the crime feild part there. its sad. The casinos promised to make the city better, but they made it worse. All I saw where Strip clubs, Crimanals and Casinos. I didnt come for a city but to escape to a nice beach type of wonderland.

wow i rlly thought alantic city was nothing special but it looks better then the boardwalk in nyc,..it has more attractions not just a bunch of restaurants ..we do have a small amusement park and a aquarium , not any casino's , i bet the water there is cleaner as well...i wanna go there but my family is so lame they dont wanna do anything lazy bastards!

The problem is that Atlantic City has become synonymous with the terms "Pit", "Dump", and "Slum". Who wants to go to AC and watch the needles wash up on the shore? Or see the pawn shops and payday loan stores on the drive into the city that remind them of what gambling really creates

If you didn't know better you would think you were in a third world country as soon as you walked two blocks off the boardwalk,run down buildings, people begging, prostitutes, etc. Sounds great huh?

Also, I am appalled by the utter lack of any real historical content regrading AC, especially in the early 80's. Yea, I find a page here/there with maybe a few paragraphs/pictures, but no real, official anything regarding AC's history. I so miss the time I spent there is a child. I can't find anything about "Gino's" a fast food/burger place (across from Resorts) or the hotel we lived in "The Sea Side Inn" (adjacent to Resorts). Sadly it seems like all that history is gone/lost forever.

Anybody from AC or live there in the early 80's? As a 10yo child, from 81 to 83 my step-dad worked in a casino lounge band (Resorts Int.) & I spent summers in AC. I remember all the video game arcades on the Boardwalk (which wasn't yet totally built up/half was abandoned/left over from the early years). Anybody remember a local supermarket named "Fogmoe's? TV Commercial - "All my life I wanted my own super market & now I finally got it! Praise the Lord for Figmoe's (chorus/sing) Figmoe's!".

@keshafan221 As a 10yo, I spent 1981-83 summers in A.C. Obviously it was totally different then. Besides there being many video game arcades on the Boardwalk (early 80's = "golden age" of videos games), every casino had an arcade too. Back then the entire boardwalk wasn't "built up" yet, & half was abandoned/left over from the early years. (kinda spooky) Each am., I'd ride my 10 speed bike on the boardwalk, waiting for the hotel pool/arcades to open. Best years of my life & sorely missed.

This is my home town, well i'm right out side of AC but was born there. I was there pretty much every day this summer, and every pic in this video is forever etched in my mind. The only thing is you should have went all the way to the other side of the board walk past HOUse of blues/ show boat casino. There is a free museum about the history of AC and an art museum as well. :)
