I've always kinda seen a parallel between drugs and this song. Some people do drugs so they can be comfortably numb to the world around them. The numbness makes them feel safe. Its a very lonely feeling. I'm not a drug addict but i will say, depression makes you feel that very feeling.
The video itself is not at all my kind of stuff but ok fine. But the music isn't about drugs at all as someone else already commented. it's makes the whole clip very superficial and kind of ordinary. But i'm sure you did it with best intentions and the editing is nice done.

The song wasn't about drugs. It was about how he was sick as a child. He had a bad fever at 105 and became delirious. And about how when he was sick before a show and took pills.The album was supposed to be about the relation with the audience and the band.

@chickenfairy750 Actually I just say an interview with Waters & he said that one day he was sick before a show. So they called the hotel Dr. who gave him a shot that made him all "stoned". And that was how he 1st came up with the song. So you are wrong. He probably added the thing about when he was a kid after the fact.

I've always kinda seen a parallel between drugs and this song. Some people do drugs so they can be comfortably numb to the world around them. The numbness makes them feel safe. Its a very lonely feeling. I'm not a drug addict but i will say, depression makes you feel that very feeling.

The video itself is not at all my kind of stuff but ok fine. But the music isn't about drugs at all as someone else already commented. it's makes the whole clip very superficial and kind of ordinary. But i'm sure you did it with best intentions and the editing is nice done.

I thought he was the kind of guy who wrote songs in an obscure, abstract way, so that people would have the freedom to interpret what they want (see: Dark Side of the Moon). When you hear what you want to hear, you're never disappointed. Let people think what they want about a song. It's their right to imagine.

It's impossible to prove what music really means. If you think it means what the artist intended, then you're just limiting yourself, just as you would be if you associate a song with any one thing in particular. I for one take several different meanings from this song every time I listen, and they're all awesome. So everyone please stop bickering over this.

This video is CRAP. Waters said in an interview that THIS SONG IS NOT ABOUT DRUGS OF ANY KIND. Even though the lyrics suggest it. It could be commercial, describing a concert experience or something similar. But this is just propaganda, trying to inflict the idea that Pink Floyd cares about nothing but doing hardcore drugs. This is stupid. And the drugs shown in the video??? I strongly doubt that Pink Floyd ever did other than LSD, Sylvia, Weed, and heroin. Maybe MDMA and acid too.

I'm a bit confused, is this a positive or negative view of drugs? And there seems to be a lot of dispute about the song meaning this song is about a lost friend. Yes Syd did fry his brain with acid. But it isn't about a high. It is about a time Waters saw Syd and he didn't even know who they were. It is about losing your mind.
