I SOOOO wish I came across Dave Ramsey decades ago.
Ironically, I have a VERY HARD time getting people to follow Dave's plan. That's why Dave is so special. He not only knows how money works, he knows how to sell it.
Thanks for posting. I followed Dave's plan (not just advice) and paid off all my family's non-mortgage debt and saved up for emergencies, vacations, cars, etc. It really helped my marriage. And when I was laid off in the recent recession, my family was just fine.
Dave is wrong when he said, "this is behavior modification as much as it is mathematics". It's pretty much all behavior modification. Though budgeting has numbers, it is about guiding future behavior, not math.
