No I was fighting for a country called Kuwait that was being invaded by Saddam Husain. I was protecting those people. In the military you know what you are signing up for. When duty calls you go. If you don't like it don't join. We can debate about this all day, but you will never convince me that Killing for pleasure such as serial killers and killing in combat is even in the same ball park.

Man has free will and therefor legal (and moral) is individually responsable for what he does or does not do. Shifting that responsability entirely to the upbringing is a denial of both free will and individual responsability. 'Upbringing', 'Society', in the end that's all of us, and I for one refuse to be held responsable for the acts of Lucas and the like. You can go to bath for them, if you want to: I sure as hell won't, because I had no part in their crimes.

I agree. Hate to say it though, but western society doesn't want to hear *that*. Because, if *he's* guilty himself for his actions, then what about the average person who drinks/drives, or cheats on their spouse, or neglects their kids, or shops to compensate for lack of stability, is antisocial, or any other number of "compulsive" behaviors?

No, I agree - I think my point was trying to illustrate how folks here that blame the parents have to consider that - by extension of their logic - the parents had a "past experience" too, and hence extends the blame back further still to others who were there during *their* childhood. And on and on and on. Which is absurd - a person makes their choices, and ultimately shoulders the responsibility. Like you said, the parents, etc, have their own responsibility - same as the perp & his actions.
