Yes, she wanted to leave the show but Porter wouldn't even discuss it with her, so she wrote this song and sang it to him live on the show. I remember to look on his face. She kept her word, she did always love and respect him and always gave him credit for giving her her first big break! She is such a wonderful human being!

She wrote this song about Porter, however she wanted Elvis Presley to record it but he never got to. I know he would have wanted to, I know it for 100% fact.

I was at this concert tooo...we waited in line for 3 hours to get in and as soon as she started singing..."IF I, should stay.." i was already crying. Its such a beautiful song and the story behind it is soo beautiful
