  • beautiful

  • Ok, this might actually be my favorite Otis Redding...I'm confused because I love all his music so much...LOL

  • @johncbny if you need to clear it up, i recommend "Otis! the definitive OR" 4 disc box. more than enough data to settle it ;)

  • Bravo Otis Redding

    Mio padre lo ascoltava sempre.

  • HELLO

  • anyone know who's female voice that is in the background?

  • I am as rock/metal as they come, but no matter what music you like, you can't deny this man's music as some of the best stuff there is.i first heard his music in 97 at the age of 18. My sister had his greatest hits cd and i threw it in. never had heard of him, but had heard sitting on the dock of the bay before. A hour later, I stole that cd from my sis and it was all i listened to for 2 months.

  • @suthrnangel1011 similar story here, i'm younger than most ppl on ths comment board but am a die hard wu-tang/nas/mobb deep etc. fan but THIS IS SOME SOUL TOUCHING TYPE SH*T!! IF CAN U DENY THIS UR BROKEN..

  • Gawd the commercials are killing youtube. I got dreams...that they will go away someday :p

  • @13xicatTS hhh they don't show in my country :)

  • @13xicatTS Those commercials are the reason why you don't have to pay to watch youtube.

  • @13xicatTS it's funny how many people still hang around on the internet without using adblock plus... download it, get it, it's free and you save yourself annoying commercials

  • truly a masterpiece

  • turn the light off, lay down, put otis on and close your eyes....!!! Just like I'm doing!!

  • Currently Anthony Hamilton is close to Otis Redding's style. Listen to Anthony Hamilton's first two CDs then get back with me.

  • @Jalenxa8 i know. anthony does his thing.soulful so full of soul. does great things to your spirit

  • @Jalenxa8 i know. anthony does his thing.soulful so full of soul. does great things to your spirit. otis, i'm in love with. since birth, he's my moms favorite. so it's just in me. can't shake it. wouldn't make it

  • why does my heart break EVERY time l hear this

  • @suegreenbar becuase your soft and its a good song

  • Nokia... Best accoustics in the WORLD. Saw TSO there...

  • Thumbs up if you came here when you saw John Mayer intro of Grafity at the Nokia Theatre!

  • man it sucks cause there are so many ppl that could sing like this but they dont get noticed because producers and agents only go with whats mainstream, and that makes them think that this kind of music wont make any money. yeah all they care about is money. well this is AMAZING goodnight youtube!

  • Amazing...

  • great

  • Yes, real music, this day and age is rare.....thank goodness, we have recorded music of the greats !

  • first time i heard dis was on that wack ass dream a little dream film. i cherish dat day and moment.

  • Anyone who classes MJ with the TRUE GREATS is too young to know the true hurt of the music. Michael never truly lacked for a thing.

  • It kills me knowing that true music is officially dead... I genuinely cannot see how there will ever be another artist who will be remembered as a legend.

The death of Michael Jackson was the death of the last true musical legend. How I wish we could bring back Otis, James Brown, MJ, and all the other greats who are no longer with us. R.I.P Music..........

  • :'-(

  • tare it up otis

  • Love the classic music of the GREAT Otis Redding.... this one is definitely reminiscent of "I've Been Loving You Too Long" as far as the arrangement of the instruments and even down to some of Otis' runs. May this legend truly rest in peace for givin us music that touches our hearts and souls.

  • much love and respect for upping this song..

there´s far too few people that recognize REAL music, so for this song I

thank you... thumbs up from Denmark!

  • This is a love song.Want to make me feel as though I am in love.

  • most beautiful tune ever written

  • ESTO ME HACE EMOCIONAR HASTA LAS LÁGRIMAS, GRANDE OTIS, GRANDE SAM COOKE, ¡QUÉ VIVA EL SOUL LOCO!

  • when you hear the voice of Otis you will have beautiful dreams

  • okay, i wanna tell u guys a lil anecdote about this song... it was written by otis' wife zelma while otis was on a tour in europe. when he got back she presented it to him- he just laughed and told her she doesnt know how to write songs, but he put that piece of paper in his pocket. she only learned that he had actually recorded it after he died! man and how he recorded it...

  • @pearsnockie ,, u just give me a valuable piece of history ,, i thank u ,, that's wonderful ...

  • @tish952 ur very welcome. glad that u like it. lol i could give u some anecdote on every otis song ;-)

  • @pearsnockie ,, :) ,, i bet u really could !! i am great full ...

  • @pearsnockie i don't believe that , tell me something else

  • Very cool history, I always loved the song...

  • damn this is deep...

  • otis is the godfaher of soul!!!>>to me atleast i love all his work

  • kut reclame

  • 5 sick people

  • it's amazing the amount of pain a person heart can take.. I've hit a low point in my life.. You were the only good thing in my life and now your gone every breath, every blink of an eye is a struggle.. But i've come a long long way and i know i'll make it through.. I should of known you were just passing through but i held on to a dream so long when all along it was a mirage...

  • Like Marvin Gaye and so many others, he just left too damn early.....just too damn early.

  • NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP I PRAY THE LORD MY SOUL TO KEEP, IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE I PRAY THE LORD MY SOUL TO TAKE... NITE NITE SWEET COREYI WILL ALWAYS HOLD YOU DEAR TO MY HEART.

  • I HOPE COREY HAIM HAS LOVELY DREAMS NOW HE IS IN HEAVEN, AS HE WAS SUCH A TROUBLED SOUL ON EARTH. I CRY EVERYDAY IN MY OWN PRIVACY OVER THE DEATH OF COREY HAIM, WHAT A WASTE OF A WONDERFUL PERSON APPARENTLY HE WAS 1 OF HOLLYWOOD'S GENTLEMEN! EVERY WHO KNEW HIM ALL SAID THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT WAS GOING ON IN HIS LIFE HE ALWAYS MADE TIME FOR HIS FANS, U DON'T GET MANY OF THOSE THESE DAY'S.

  • I normally don't have emotions. But this makes me cry.

  • i've got dreammmmsssssssss to remember

  • I love this song so much, it reminds me of the poor heartbroken actor Corey Haim who tragically died on 10th march 2010. This song played when he starred in the movie Dream A little dream with his best friend Corey Feldman. R I P Corey Haim i miss your cheeky smile everyday, u remind me of my teenage yrs thanks for the memories. miss ya :(

  • All of his Songz are Classic...No need to skip any one of them #GoodMusic

  • this song reminds me of dream a little dream, and corey haim. both him and otis died way before their time:(

  • @x3ishere1 reminds me of the same thing

  • my 14 yr old loves this song. so i'd say it's a good song

  • I was in love at the time best song ever

  • Wonderfull! I use to date and dance, listening this tune!

  • heavenly !

  • i don't usually listen to music like this but i really find this stuff interesting and really relaxing to listen to.

  • So im wondering when a new artist will wake up and take the Otis route , raw vocals no auto tune and special effects, real music --guess never

  • @OHioyungsta Amos Lee, check him out

  • @JMyrrhaV will do

  • @OHioyungsta

adele, i guess. sort of. she's the closest thing we'll ever get to otis this day and age.

  • @OHioyungsta Are you fucking kidding me? There are way more artists who DON'T use autotune than those who do. Just cause you can't find good artists, doesn't mean they're not around.

  • @blablaat ones who are actually public figures and can make a difference ...... pause .... um no .. im right your wrong .. be gone

  • @blablaat Completely agree, all the good artists of the day are just don't have the amount of publicity that the pop stars have today. if you want to listen to GOOD music of today you have to find it

  • @OHioyungsta Timothy Bloom! Am not comparing him to Otis but he's really good too ;)

  • @OHioyungsta Aloe Blacc.

  • @OHioyungsta Plenty of artists are doing that now, silly! Its just they aren't always so famous, that doesn't mean they aren't doing it

  • @OHioyungsta check out raphael saadiq, its worth it

  • @OHioyungsta add me everyone

  • @OHioyungsta Listen to The Big Come Up from The Black Keys..

  • gone are the good old days when music was music. how the hell would some people hate this? thank God they are 3, very insignificant number anyway.

  • @abdulwahabadi ..well you just have to understand that not everyone likes the same things. I love it because it reminds me of dream a little dream..incredible little movie..and soundtrack. not everyone will feel this way. oh well..

  • Magnifique.

  • @Arielle24ify Too True. niagoddess1

  • LOVE THIS-

  • @bluebayouRoses - I haven't heard this before - agreed though, it is lovely.

  • This just drips with soul! love it! love it! love it!

  • I have loved this song since I was around 12 years old....still do !!!

  • 3 people don't have dreams to remember.

On a serious note. HOW THE HELL DO YOU NOT LIKE OTIS REDDING? Nothing is as romantic as Otis. Amazing voice and song writer.

  • @Landrar Amen! Empty souls is all I can come up with

  • It´s the best. When wanting to hear misic, I always start with this song. I´ll never be tired with this song. Always enjoy with it.

  • 26 is too young

  • Oh my gosh!! i like this song its good for my soul.

  • This song takes me back to my childhood with my family and my grandfather having parties. we would sit on the porch and we would put in otis tapes and we would sing away!

i miss those days! r.i.p grandaddy

  • I'm so glad music is a big part of my life. With music like this, life is definitely good. This is coming from a guy who listens to Heavy Metal,Spanish,Trance/Electronica and Classical music...

  • LOL MY DAD GOING CRAZY FOR THIS SONG <3

  • Such a beautiful song...

  • real black american music

  • otis remind me of my daddy...he died in 98. my father's voice sounds just like this. my father never made it big, but he could sang:) r.i.p daddy, u live on through me.

  • @x3ishere1 Sweet. I'm sure your father could sing well. So nice of you to remember him with this song.

  • I love how out of almost half a million views there is only 2 dislikes :)

  • I GOT DREAMS TO REMEMBER MR. OTIS I'LL ALWAYS DREAM ABOUT YOU SEXY MAN !

  • music

  • 2 people are going to get herpies

  • Im sure REM used this for Everybody Hurts, the guitar.

  • @43OXFORD Different chords, but yeh the strings are picked in similar ways. A lot of Otis Reddings songs involve arpeggios similar to the ones in this song.

  • @43OXFORD

It's a pretty standard chord progression in soul music from which a lot of modern rock artists draw inspiration from.

  • 2 people will have nightmares not dreams.......

  • I love this song and I awlso like the version performed by Buddy Guy and John Mayer

  • I love his voice!!!!

  • great song great voise

  • MAGIC

  • i was born in 93' . I know nothing about this kind of music and I dont understand it but I love it . I really do . I know when I get older I will understand it . <3

  • @blackcrazybarbie: What is there to understand? It's music, you either like it or you don't.

  • So many dreams ....so many memories. Otis played such a big part in that.

Thank you Otis for the memories that you gave us.

  • Otis is definately in my dreams!

  • Listening in Tulsa, the DJ dying of Big C, said this was the greatest performance he ever heard, I agree, Otis was a natural at the pain of blues

  • Just sometimes if dreams could be real.

  • It's such a pity that the foul mouthed, drug dealing, criminals of rap couldn't live up to their heritage. I suppose the immaculate Otis set the bar too high? Listen to him and die a little.

  • It's such a pity that the fraudulent, ghetto blasting, foul mouthed, drug dealing,, dead beats of rap never lived up to their heritage. Otis set the bar to high?

  • you gone take me to the top

  • don´t he likes Eddy Murphy..??...jeje

  • So much good music died with this man. RIP ♥

  • maravilloso

  • Love this song.. I remember my mom would love these songs all his songs.. and she would play them, I miss that...

  • so emotional... i love it <3

  • what a tender voice

  • Outstanding and emotional... I also love Michael Grimm's version of this, brings the same emotion with a lot of intensity.

  • its been emotional :'

  • f'n beautiful brother

  • this is the best version of this song by Otis! perfect voice, real soul.

  • All these old songs(especially this one) remind me of my Mom. We used to listen to all of them when I was a kid. She was my world and protector. I'll miss you Mom

  • @tellthetruth75 - Love you mom. Always and forever........

  • I don't normally comment. I don't ask for thumbs up but, my father told me something when I was very young. "Otis would have been the godfather of soul, not James Brown, if he didn't pass away so young." Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @picklejuice01 I agree!! next to "soul" in the dictionary should be this here song by Otis!!

  • @picklejuice01 - Although I mean to take nothing away form the awesome talent that James Brown was but the truth is James Brown is not even in the same ballpark when it comes to Soul. He is at best a far second to Oitis. Just listen...the music cannot lie.

  • @MichaelNetwork

I think it's fair to call it apples and oranges. Mr. Brown is immensely talented - but you don't listen to him and Otis for the same reasons.

  • @tutlens - I can agree with that - Different flavors of soul

  • @picklejuice01 So very true. Otis went way to early.

  • @picklejuice01 I think he is anyway mate . JB was nothing earlier on. Look at the footage of Brown singing Please Please Please and looking like he's wearing calipers! and compare it to any of the Stax artists but particularly Otis, and Sam and Dave. JB looked like the Grandfather of Soul in that footage, urgently in need of a couple of hip replacements. The King is dead, long live the KIng as we say in the UK and that was and always will be Otis.

  • direct to the heart...

  • I can't believe what UB40 did to this beautiful song.

  • I have cried an ocean of tears to this song. Every night for five interminable years as I grieved a 25 year marriage evaporate. Otis delivers the blues ballad like no one ever will. What a tragic end to such a beautiful artist.

  • @Moussafoster - This music can reach the spirit and therefore heal the soul. Let it out and let it go...then smile.

  • dream a little dream

  • Church

  • I miss him, but so glad we had him. RIP Otis.

  • Do you remember when you first saw the one you loved with another....your stomach on the floor....heart pounding.... knees weak...and its when you knew...you finally knew this time...it was over. And now all you have is the memories....sweet precious dreams to remember. Her touch...soft slow delicate kiss....and the scent of her essence as you fall completely into her. "Dreams to Remember"

  • @MichaelNetwork that's so eloquent and so moving Michael.

  • Listen to the story....ohhh just listen... to the story. How does he reach the deepest part of soul. A talent beyond words. We could use your music in mainstream today. Thanks Otis

  • awsome

  • Refound.

    :D*

  • The best singer that ever existed. This song proves it, as does Dock Of The Bay. The man died before his time and is missed everyday by many. The music he made was raw emotion that can never be replaced or replicated by anyone. R.I.P the great Otis Redding!!! You are loved by all as your music continues to transcend the soul.

  • Me gusta la musica de Otis Redding!

  • meilleur chanteur soul du monde

  • meilleurchanteur soul du monde

  • so many years gone by since you left us, but never the less your music still warm our hearts and our souls,

  • one person doesnt have any dreams to remember,.

  • Otis is the very definition of soul.

  • I can spend hours just listening to the sweet sound of Otis Redding. R.I.P.

  • Ooo Wee ♥
