I'm totally agreed with you... I had 50 videos and now I have only 4 sons of a bitch... I am pissed too and they are so not fair!!! We do not break some freaking rules so they are doing that i hate them...

It isn't fair, but it is copyright, and i understand that, BUT we are not harming anything or anyone. If anything, we are doing good for the musicians, before i started making vids, i never heard of The Veronicas, Within Temptation, etc. But sadly they don't see it that way.

God... I know what you mean, they blocked my troops video, and a few supernatural along with my brand new Veronica Mars video... most of the artists I use should be happy I use the'r stuff, they're not well known... but let this be a word of warning to all of the owners, you can fuck yourselves, I'd rather use Imeem. I agree, actually, we do the opposite of claiming profit.. We're advertising for them.. Without youtube, I wouldn't have known about Supernatural, Roswell, Heroes or many other movies that we vid too.. So really, we're helping the, not the other way around..

same thing going on with me...i don't find the problem for it...i've looked it up and i can use music for fandom, if it weren't that way, we wouldn't be able to listen to it, but Youtube doesn't listen and takes it off or mutes it for some reason. Why? Youtube why?

Clearly, you are unfamiliar with copyright law. Just because you aren't making videos for profit doesn't mean you (and I) aren't violating the law. Where copyright law is concerned, written permission is needed in order to use material. Obviously, we don't write our favorite artists for permission so that is why our videos get removed. YT runs our videos through a content id system and if it hits a match, the video gets claimed. Many vids mash songs, so only *parts* of the video MAY infringe.

I'm a bit familiar with the copyright law, but not completley.. But still, we should be allowed to do it.. I mean, why not just shut youtube down instead then? I am a bit familiar about the law, but doesn't mean i have to agree with it. I don't claim i own the rights to the music, i even have that stated in my vids. I don't make a profit. We all do it for FUN. It's not like i'm going to watch a vid and think that the creator of the vid owns the clips and music. No one thinks that, everyone is familiar what a fanvid is. Really if it was so illegal, then youtube should have nipped this in the butt right from the start.

I think it's great exposure for artists! There are many times I hear a song used in a fan video that I would not otherwise have heard. In the end it's really their loss, isn't it?
