Thank you so much for this version. I have been looking for a contemporary and upbeat Glory for our church (The Assumption in East LA). I'm going to use your version!
Very pretty, but if you are looking for something more contemporary and upbeat please check out my video: "New Catholic Mass Music Gloria." Our parish loves it.
Dear Dr. Brian, A 12 string player am I, so let me tell you, that Gloria is all yours. No Peter, Paul and Mary stuff, either. Your Gift comes from Him whom we give Glory!! I do like your picking style. It's a bit synchopaded and I do like it. Keep on goin' on, my friend, and let the nay sayers be to their jealous natures. May God keep blessin' you with the Gift of The Father!! festacholi@att.net
Dear Festacholi, thank you so much for your wonderful words of encouragement! I will soon be putting up a newer version. Dio ti benedica con gioia, pace, amore e salute. Brian McDonogh
I appreciate your comments and I must agree that the New Translation is causing havoc in our music ministry. Unfortunately, our local priest will only accept the words as they are now written, without any 'musical license'. The organists have it much easier than the guitarists when teaching the congregation new hymns. Every blessing to you in your music ministry. Brian McDonogh
Sounds good. I'll tell you, though, there seems to be quite a bit browsed from the Pachebel chord progression combined with Peter, Paul and Mary's version of Don't Think Twice, It's Alright. But again, sounds good. As a fellow church musician, don't you just hate these new words imposed upon us from Rome?
