This one stokes the old righteous angry side of Tull , doesn't it? I always think of the movie "Scandal" and the real British political scandal that movie is based on.
The "Fairground girl?" Anderson has these strangely quaint way of putting things, sometimes. Funny though. Ties in with "House of Commons Brawl"...
This is a great 2 CD set.... quite a bit was unfinished from recordings in Ian's warchest........ "the chateau D'isaster tapes"...... fantastic stuff.... Law of the Bungle even has Martins voice on some vocals
I'd never heard of this album. I would never think this was JT. Something is wrong with Ian's voice. Meter and pitch is way off! I wonder what happened?
@LadyeRigel1 basically in the early eighties he developed major problems with his voice, and his range became more limited and he had to sing in a lower key overall. everything past Under Wraps (1984) features this vocal style. this song is from 1989. it's a shame UW was the last album to feature his classic voice.
Yeah, that kind of happens when you sing like he did. You get nodes out the wazoo and lose your voice, then you have to have surgery to take them out once they're like his were.
he didn't believe in sentimentality as a way of life. the girl caused him to fall in love and -almost- question his principles. instead of caving in, he took his life.
