Everyone claiming the original was better than this 2002 reboot are definitely looking at the original through rose-tinted glasses. I was as much of a He-Man fan as any other boy born in 1980, but when I compare the original to this reboot, the original looks absolutely horrible. I really wish this reboot would have been given a chance to continue for a couple more seasons. Everything about it is better than the old cartoon.
@JESSEWOLF1 The stories are less silly than the old one, the voice acting isn't as stiff, they have actual fights as opposed to slapstick comedy, not to mention continuing storylines. and people actually get hurt or killed. Explain to me how the old one is better?

Even though I agree this isn't Cam Clarke's best role this guy does not deserve to be slated. He is something of a legend in the voice acting community, Liquid Snake anyone? Kaneda from Akira, Leonardo from TMNT, the list is impressive. He has parts in so many games, AC, COD, DA,god of war, monkey island, everquest and I'm gonna stop there because there are simply too many games to list. Bash the voice acting for He-Man fair enough, insulting the voice actor is inexcusable.

I hate people who look at things through nostalgia. I never feel nostalgia towards anything, and I think that's a good thing. If it sucks, it sucks, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. The reboot of He-man is much better than the original series.

@Pyre I totally agree. It was well written. The plot to each episode was sound, left no holes. And it was well animated. Each character had their own size, and shape. The old original seemed like it used a templet of bodies. But the action sequences to this new version sucked bad. Mostly weapon twirling, and gymnastic moves. Also things that should be epic like Adams transformation into He-Man were lack luster at best. The voice acting was also not appealing either all eccept Man-at-Arms
@BigLumpyTool I (near) totally agree! The old show looked as though they used a template of bodies because they DID - everyone looked alike to make it easier to make toys (which is also why Adam and He-Man looked alike). Personally, I enjoyed the voice-acting in the new one.
That said, yes, the fight scenes were often lacking: entirely too much needless weapon twirling and gymnastics. Though it's hard to match the "fireworks on screen" transformation from the original show.

ok that was lame ... the original is so much better ... sure Filmation had adam all buff in the original but it was a cost cutting issue to use the basic cel drawings ... where new toons have so many different computer programs to help the animators. but the sounds, the flashing the HE-MAN with the music etc. in the original WAY BETTER.

As it is, even though it's a shame the original series had the static body shapes and the newer series fixes that, the vocal resonance during the transformation sequence is by far the best in the original series.

the orchestrated music and the barbarian-like male chorus from the original series was very powerful during the transformation! but, i do like the music from the updated series...with the soprano-angelic chorus and majestic orchestration to really bring out the signature battle cry 'i have the power'! both versions can really send chills up and down your spine everytime it's played!!!
In the test pilot, the sword was made by Man-at-Arms because Skeletor had the original power sword. A test audience didn't like it but the toys were already made so they kept the design but changed the story. It's really the only thing I didn't like about the show other than Cringer not talking.

As a huge fan of the 80's cartoon this is more epic. I never understood why no one new that He-man was Adam when they looked like twins! I later found out they wanted Adam to be a teenager but it was to expensive to make another mold!lol I also hated how all the men in the 80's cartton had the same build! The remake got it right however unlike the original it lacked a comedy ark.

@brivanas No it wasn't. It was a show dedicated to selling merchandise with some of the cheapest animation you'll ever see, even considering the decade it was made in.
The 2002 series had a lot of technical improvements - for instance, the newer Prince Adam was much smaller and looked nothing like He-Man. The original series merely showed them with different skin tones and costumes and made you wonder "how come people didn't realize they were the same person?". But the newer He-Man looks too young - more like a big surfer kid with muscles, rather than a man.
He-Boy turns into He-Man.

In the test pilot, the sword was made by Man-at-Arms because Skeletor had the original power sword. A test audience didn't like it but the toys were already made so they kept the design but changed the story. It's really the only thing I didn't like about the show other than Cringer not talking.

The best transformation is in the original series when that chick falls into the abyss around Castle Greyskull. Adam transforms while she
is in there and you get to see the power blow up from inside the abyss. Now THAT was all kinds of bad ass!

As a huge fan of the 80's cartoon this is more epic. I never understood why no one new that He-man was Adam when they looked like twins! I later found out they wanted Adam to be a teenager but it was to expensive to make another mold!lol I also hated how all the men in the 80's cartton had the same build! The remake got it right however unlike the original it lacked a comedy ark.

i'm biased and all but how is this the best, i prefer the original 80's version
the point of the music being epic (which it was in the original) was to make you feel like you're in the moment, this sounded boring and the "i have the power" sounded gay
also if i wanted a anime like transformation i'd GO watch some anime.

@brivanas I totally agree. Its more introducing of this ultimate hero. The tone of when he says -I have the power - sounds more right. The echo of his words with the music singing He-man over and over is perfect for his transformation. the new one is shite and not one you remember.

The 2002 series had a lot of technical improvements - for instance, the newer Prince Adam was much smaller and looked nothing like He-Man. The original series merely showed them with different skin tones and costumes and made you wonder "how come people didn't realize they were the same person?". But the newer He-Man looks too young - more like a big surfer kid with muscles, rather than a man.
