@Synthematix The song is No Doubt's "Hella Good". Its one we often use for testing purposes due to its full bandwidth and strong transients. Thanks for listening!
After listening to the H4n and DR-100 over and over and over and over.. The best way I can describe the two in comparison would be to compare the two with Bose and Beats. Beats headphones have a boosted low end along with crystal clear sound. Where Bose headphones have natural low ends suitable for a more true, realistic tone. Beats are named perfectly because that's what they're made for. In my opinion the Zoom H4n reminds me of Beats by Dre and the Tascam DR-100, Bose. Both are amazing.
Awesome video. I don't see what the thumbs downs could have been for. I don't consider myself an audiofile, but I'd like to think I have a discerning ear and I could hear the difference between the Zoom devices and Tascam devices. The Zoom devices seemed a little more "muddy" while the Tascam devices seem to playback a clean level EQ with the highs not overdone, but just right.
@daryldyer It depends, Tascam has a better built with better control knobs with double power support and both uni and omni mic, also a line in and line out with headphone monitoring. Zoom is a 4 channel recorder with unique filters with usb recording, as well as headphone jack but without line out. Both have xlr same recording type, quality, etc.
the dr100 sounds too mettalic, btw whats the name of this song?
