i had an ingrown toenail, you shouldnt take that much toenail off i think, all i did was pry the ingrown part up, put cotton under and waited weeks forthe nail to get long enough to cut STRAIGHT ACROSS--------- NOT AS SHORT AS YOU CAN GET IT, THATS WHAT YOU DID.
I had the same thing done twice. They gave me 4 shots in one toe, then took this scissors/tweezers and just pulled it up, then took another took like it and cut it off then sliced open my toe and pulled out the chunks of toenail then caughterized it
I had an ingrown toenail on my left foot and it was absolutely painful. I would always get puss from it everyday and my socks would be yellow, not white. Finally, after dealing with it for about a year or 2, I went to a foot doctor and he cut the ingrown toenail out. Unfortunately, he must have not gotten the root out because it came back more fierce than ever. So, I went back, he cut it again then put something on it and it never came back...
my whole toenail fell off from the ingrown toenail i guess my skin couldnt take the pain anymore so the only way was to remove to completely from the skin what am i talkng about
I get ingrown tonails regularly cause i pick my toenails and the nail peels off to much.. i quickly learned the best way to do it.. was even though it dangerous leave if for about 1-2 weeks.. till you just get over the pain.. then.. go to town with twisers and maybe a slightly sharp knife.. (burn them first to seralise them)
I had my toenail removed and the nailbed destroyed last February after it got steadily worse for 7 months. It was done on a Friday, and I had to keep off my feet over the weekend and the following Monday. Then I could go about my normal life, apart from having to change the dressing every day until it stopped weeping. Simple.
i had this done on both of my toes twice on each side i finally had enough and had my whole nail removed and root bed killed on both of my big toes. Ill let u know how it looks after they heal
This is called a Matrixectomy. It makes life SO much better if you have recurrent, painful ingrown toe nails. After a while , they start to become infected frequently and even MORE painful. The chemicals on the root are necessary if you don't want it to ever grow back; BUT a lot of people find that after having this done, their toenails do not "in-grow" on the treated side. I wasn't so lucky. I'll have 2 have a repeat surgery & this time request the root killing chemicals. Hope this info helped!
I have an in grown toe on both of my toes i was born with them and i was wondering how much does it cost to have them removed and u r right it hurts like a mofo when u bang in into something ive taken pills but they only dry the im scared shitless of getting them removed so power to ya
@whitewolf96wagar you either pick your nails off or cut them improperly. so the nail grows back in a weird angle causing it to be ingrown. GG BRO. got my whole nail remove in 2 minutes. trust me the needle is the only painful thing. nail grows back in about a month. GG BRO BO BROBROBROBORBR
@immawesomekoba yes you are. There is some discomfort. They numb your toe really good. For me they applied some skin numbing thing then they injected my toe with a some stuff twice. I still felt the tools moving around in my toe which was a weird sensation(I had to get the whole nail taken out though) mostly they just take off the sides. Its not too bad to be honest, and you feel MUCH better afterward....its just a little tender if you get the whole nail removed which is not too big of a deal
Be Glad it wasn't (as) infected (as mine). Mine was removed today and i was told if i waited another week or two i could have died if the infection spread too far and got to the main blood stream.
When I got my ingrown toe nail removed my doctor did the same thing cutting one side off and he didn't even fix the problem two days later I pulled the piece of toe nail out of the side of my toe with twizzers.
I just got mine done and he cut out both sides, he put a chemical on the root to kill it so it wont ever grow back. Thats what your doctors shouldve done
@XxCKAxxLMFxX will your toe nail never grow back? i have an ingrown toe nail and need to have it sorted. but id rather have an ingrown toe nail than no toe nail :(
@londoncars1 I wouldnt recommend not getting it sorted out. Got to a Doctor immediately and maybe it can still be fixed without operation. But if you ignore it and you just live on with it there is a certain chance that at some point you will get a blood poisoning -> and those can be lethal.
@londoncars1 You probably should get it removed, trust me, I got a ingrown toenail 2x on the same toe. Your toenail hurts like hell, you will feel much better when you cut the ingrown part out. Plus, my nail grew back and it doesnt too bad now.
@Hellsboundedsoul thanks for the info! basically mine is ingrown on the left side of my big toe and it is swollen. will they just cut a bit of the nail as they have done in this video? and after it should grow back normally, right? and would i be able to continue normal everyday life straight after (will i have to take time of work)? sorry, im just worried :|
@londoncars1 Well cutting off the ingrown yourself theres a risk of it growing ingrown again. but if you go to a dr, they put some acid stuff so that side wont be ingrown again. your toe will be numb so you wont feel anything
@XxCKAxxLMFxX i got my second ingrown toenail cuz the doc didnt kill the root at first. i guess he thought i wudnt cut my nail wrong in the first place. but i ed up lol
i got both the right and left sides of both of my big toes and so far they haven't hurt but there is one thing....the nail cuticle is very hard around both sides. that normal?
I had mine done yesterday, yeah the injections hurt, because there is little room for the fluid to go into the toe. Usually it numbs the whole toe but for me it only numbed one side, unfortunately the side that wasn't ingrown. So it hurt. Insanely.
@47Indigo47 i have one right now and they gave me moltrin and some antibiotics so the infection goes away and the moltrin for the pain and once the toenail aint infected they assign me an appointment to take this stupid bitcch ouut!!
Both my big toes eventually had the roots removed on either side, so they look goofy. The left is shorter than the right, so it looks like a face sticking out of a hoodie. The right looks long and skinny like a stripe up the center. Endless ridicule from friends! LOL. But the pain and surgeries are over and I can run every day.
@droid740 Lmfao! I told my friend the same shit when he had his removed. Jokinh aside that makes the toughest people scream like little bitches. I had mine but it was cuz the door slammed on my toe so it pierced my skin. I removed it with a clip it hurt like a bitch. The hardest part is pulling out the nail after the root is out pain is gone. Sometimes the best method to remove pain is bigger pain.
i had both sides done on the same toe, so my doc stitched the sides onto my remaining nail, holy fuck does it hurt to walk and drive around. I lived off Tylenol extra strength for 2 weeks. 8pills/day 14 days, a fuckload of acetaminophen.
@BiZeRk67 find a doctor. soak your infected foot in epsom salt mixed in water. soak for 20 minutes a day and squeeze out as much puss as you can. keep a sock on the foot at all times. when you see the doctor he/she should give you a antibiotic to get rid of pain and pus. then he/she will remove it. if it is worse, he/she should still give you antibiotics then will surgically remove the nail after it has been numbed
I had an ingrown toenail on both my big toes, on both sides, all at the same time. Let's just say my toes were swollen to the size of golfballs. They talked about cutting my toes off. But they got out some of the pus. They put me to sleep to cut out the roots in my toes because of the way my toes grew out. It was horrible. Now I have ugly scars :(
@REDPIG7705 did your doctor say anything about crutches? and on a scale of 1-10 how much did the surgery hurt.. how much did the shots hurt and did it hurt afterwards?
that looks abit like my toe yesterday but my toe was infected as hell, i have tried to do that by my own in many days but today we went to the hospital to do something with it, and they found 2 nails and a little piece of a sock in the toe so u can think it hurt to walk xD

@REDPIG7705 i have an ingrown toenail and everyday when i get home from school its puss filled, not alot but enogh, were you awake and felt every thing in the surgery or were you asleep, and should i get mine removed, if you want i could send you a pic
@Zzzdo0mzzZ Mine wasnt that bad at first either... but then when i Tried to cut it out myself it started to get infected so i had to go and get both sides of mine done..
If they go away on their own, or you take care of them some how, no. Only go to the doctor after they hang around for too long. With that said, do not wait too long, then you're in more trouble.
That looks like a terrible job. Your doctor must be retarded. He should have pried the wing of the nail bed up and cut strait down close to the side not take half your nail off.
@canascot02 Doesn't work like that, if you don't cut a substantial amount off then it will just grow back, even with that much cut off it can still grow back ingrown like mine did.
@llllShArPllll Same here. It wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be, and my toe is without pain now. This procedure is the best way to take care of it, and you don't need that large of a slice taken out.
im 12 and i have one, is it true that surgery does not hurt at all, or is there another way to get rid of it cause i dont want to cause any pain to myself, the thought of going into surgery almost brings me to tears :(
@crazyhatgurl hi my name is cedric . I have an ingrown toenail too and I went see a doctor... I was kinda nervous because I didnt wanted to get a surgery. firstly, the doctor told me a special mix to do. here it is : 1 table spoon of salt
1 table spoon of bleach
1 liter of boiled water
YOU MUST FOLLOW EXACTLY THE INSTRUCTION because if you add to much bleach it will burn your skin and not enough will simply not work
That looks like it would hurt like SHIT!, did they do that painless surgery? I bet they did, cause if u could feel that, u would be SCREAMING in F*cking pain!
@fsxdave24 I just had my toe nail fixed today. He didn't remove the entire nail, just the edge that was stuck. I thought it was going to be so much worse. He sprayed the toe first with a very cold stuff and I could hardly feel the shot. After that I did not feel anything! He applied some kind of medication so the nail doesn't grow again (phenol, i think). If you have an ingrown nail, nothing can be worse than having that stuck on your toe. Go for it!!!
Do the V trick, simple cut a V in the middle of your toenail. This forces your toenail to pull away from the sides in order to fix the V. Works like a charm.
It works best when the toenail is just starting to get ingrown. From the looks of the video, you left that go for a while. I always do the V trick the minute I feel and see any type of pain and redness on my toe, which is usually the 2nd or 3rd day. Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you though, I would hate going to the doctor over a toenail.
It works for me and other people I know. so I will continue to spread the word before people go to the doctor and get their toenail mangled all over something so small.
i had an ingrown toenail, you shouldnt take that much toenail off i think, all i did was pry the ingrown part up, put cotton under and waited weeks forthe nail to get long enough to cut STRAIGHT ACROSS--------- NOT AS SHORT AS YOU CAN GET IT, THATS WHAT YOU DID.

I got mine removed today. The doctor numbed my toe before cutting the toenail.
BlackAces100 1 year ago
The doctor took too much out. Part of the point is the cosmetic appeal. Only a few millimeters of the wedge is supposed to be cut.

@Rais661 It would be good to.
REDPIG7705 1 year ago
@Rais661
If they go away on their own, or you take care of them some how, no. Only go to the doctor after they hang around for too long. With that said, do not wait too long, then you're in more trouble.
GeminiEntity 1 year ago
That looks like a terrible job. Your doctor must be retarded. He should have pried the wing of the nail bed up and cut strait down close to the side not take half your nail off.
canascot02 1 year ago 35
@canascot02 My doctor wasn't a specialist, he was just a regular doctor. i didn't care how much he removed, I was just glad to have it done.
REDPIG7705 1 year ago
@canascot02 yeah and u go back a month later complaining about more pain
xXdarkxninjaXx 1 year ago
@canascot02 Actually, this is the correct way to do it. if you just flick it out and cut it off, it's going to grow straight back down there.
marky1809 1 year ago
@canascot02 Doesn't work like that, if you don't cut a substantial amount off then it will just grow back, even with that much cut off it can still grow back ingrown like mine did.

Its a procedure not a surgery i have it done once a month cause i play football and man those shoes create them like octo-mom
Y0UNGHUNTER 1 year ago
The guy who dd my surgery didn't cut such a big chunk of nail off....just a sliver on the sides.
llllShArPllll 1 year ago
@llllShArPllll Same here. It wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be, and my toe is without pain now. This procedure is the best way to take care of it, and you don't need that large of a slice taken out.
Buapo 1 year ago
im 12 and i have one, is it true that surgery does not hurt at all, or is there another way to get rid of it cause i dont want to cause any pain to myself, the thought of going into surgery almost brings me to tears :(
crazyhatgurl 1 year ago
@crazyhatgurl The surgery doesn't hurt at all. Only the numbing hurts. As far as I know surgery is the only way to have it removed.
REDPIG7705 1 year ago
@REDPIG7705 are u sleeping during surgery?
TazHardy23 1 year ago
Rebecca. It dont hurt. Just a needle prick when they numb it.
looneyhills1 1 year ago
@crazyhatgurl Just a small needle prick when they numb it. Dont live with it cause it hurts when you kick something.

YOU MUST FOLLOW EXACTLY THE INSTRUCTION because if you add to much bleach it will burn your skin and not enough will simply not work
she also gave me a special cream that disinfects
cedricb962 1 year ago
Surgery does not hurt at all. The worst part was actually the lidocaine injection. I did it today, took 6 minutes tops, no pain.

That looks like it would hurt like SHIT!, did they do that painless surgery? I bet they did, cause if u could feel that, u would be SCREAMING in F*cking pain!
joshua555555555 1 year ago
i am F***king scared like you have no idea how scared i am dose the surgery hurt?
fsxdave24 1 year ago
@fsxdave24 Only the numbing.
REDPIG7705 1 year ago
@fsxdave24 I just had my toe nail fixed today. He didn't remove the entire nail, just the edge that was stuck. I thought it was going to be so much worse. He sprayed the toe first with a very cold stuff and I could hardly feel the shot. After that I did not feel anything! He applied some kind of medication so the nail doesn't grow again (phenol, i think). If you have an ingrown nail, nothing can be worse than having that stuck on your toe. Go for it!!!

@LittelMissChevy
Do the V trick, simple cut a V in the middle of your toenail. This forces your toenail to pull away from the sides in order to fix the V. Works like a charm.
GeminiEntity 1 year ago 2
@GeminiEntity Thank you sooo much:) Nothing worse then getting them big ass needles lol! ill do that when they both grow back:) xxx
LittelMissChevy 1 year ago 2
@GeminiEntity I've tried that many times and it does not work for me.
REDPIG7705 1 year ago
@REDPIG7705
GeminiEntity 1 year ago
@GeminiEntity Your toenail does not grow from the end, it grows from the base. This trick simply does not work. The V will just grow straight out.

It works for me and other people I know. so I will continue to spread the word before people go to the doctor and get their toenail mangled all over something so small.
GeminiEntity 1 year ago
@GeminiEntity My doctor didn't mangle my toenail. In fact, he cut off less than half of what is shown in this video, and the toenail looks normal.
You're saving people from a procedure that is quickly over, and truly solves the problem. I say, if you have insurance, just have the doctor take
