I just finished watching the end of the series and I cried! I cried after episode 25, but still!!!! Thank you for making something I can reasonably cry for. 5/5 stars.
The AMV so much matches the atmosphere of the song, and this song is absolutely perfect for L, since he is ...special. Plus he's walking in the rain and barefoot a lot. Definitely one of the best AMVs! Plus now I listen to Regina Spektor
Ah, I love this. The song is beautiful- I've listened to it about 3 times in a row. And it fits so well. It's tragic, yet simple and just... "this is what I am and this is what I say". Like L. It's very L-esque.

The ghost died because there was too much time left in the end of the video. I wanted to end with L's dying, but there was a whole nother 'the world is everlasting' to go, and it sounded weird just cutting it off.
Plus, the idea of ghosts dying is very interesting to me. Maybe they do die? In this universe, since death gods can I bet ghosts can.
And yeah. People have commented on the LJ comm I put this on? Just not here yet.

Your ghosty point makes some sort of sense...but the problem is the shinigami have purposes, and ghosts don't. Because of their albeit obsolete functions, there is the possibility that they can end, but what would a ghost have?
Actually that just proves that ghosts CAN die! Ghosts are ghosts because they're trapped on earth because they weren't able to accomplish or let go of something in life. If Watari is a ghost, and his mission is to give L advice, when L dies there's nothing to do anymore. Without a mission or a reason not to move on, a ghost can't exist. Thus, he would die.
I think I phrased my point in an odd way. What I meant was, ghost don't have anything they need in order to continue existing, whereas humans and death gods both do (humans need food and stuff, death gods need to kill people).
They do though, like I said, ghosts need a reason to be ghosts. Otherwise they move onto heaven or hell or the bottomless pit full of tacos or wherever they're going to go.
This song makes life happy.

This is a great AMV, but I have one question regarding the lyrics.
"Spat some loogy", what does "loogy" mean?(and by the way I am not sure about the spelling of the word.

"Loogey" is slang for the nasty spit some people do- with mucus in it. You don't want to step in one.
