Small markets can work if people are spending money in that area--but the point in the video is valid: market research is critical! Also really, really large markets can be disappointing if no money is changing hands. It's a lot of trial and error with markets too--you can have a great idea and then it flops or you just overestimated your interest in that particular market--that can be expected, but you're only out the cost of the domain and your time so failing is not devastating.
Naked Mole-Rats are a bad choice for something that is not interesting. I can think of many rodents that are less interesting than naked mole-rats. They have co-operative breeding, somewhat like an ant colony - something mammals don't do.
BUT the discussion is interesting. Darren, Sonia and Brian are certainly some of the big guys in the blogging world.
