  • just amazing,....

  • this is so me

  • I know whether you could it(Ipcress File) his greatest but it sure gets an honourable mention on his ladder of some of his greatest themes. Then again it is so difficult to say which one is the best because then the film has to back it up. So I guess it gets down to personal preference. I would have to agree with BarryFanatic he will go down as the greatest film theme composer ever. Probably followed by Hans Zimmerman, Alfred Newman, Morriconni, not in that order.

  • @ricscott10 Don't forget John Williams too, he did some great stuff, i.e Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Schindlers List etc.

  • Is it safe??

  • perfect score, hints of danger, stealth and romance only John Barry could write such music.

  • He always had those elements in all his tracks! :D

  • On the original, the cimbalon is more prominent and the woodwind has more swagger and the trumpet player is a better improviser (this one either plays single notes or pseudo military calls), but it is a passable version nonetheless. City of Prague Philharmonic, you've earned your dosh.

  • No decade offered such variety of so much talent as the 1960's.

  • The pure genius that is John Barry.....This film is an absolute British classic....John Barry's Soundtracks were simply Brilliant, and in the case of a lot of the James Bond Movies, the soundtrack was far more interesting than the film itself!!! A prime example is On her Majesties secret Service, the movie is poor but Film Score is awesome!!!

  • @tootstanner In my 350 playlists of the best artists on earth there are about a dozen film composers so far. John Barry's list has over 40 songs. I also have playlists for every year since 1900 & add these film score in along with the pop tunes so you get a full idea of the music of the day, over a century worth! Added this for 1965. Hope you'll come check me out. Chuck
