First off for al the dumb fucks calling it fake your stupid as fucjk its called the ghost effect it makes lightning seem closer it was prob like a 100 dum fucks i hate self absoured ego manics who think they no everything
you say 10 feet but that was not the initial path the bolt took. you were prolly like 100ft away. i know what 10 feet is like and it is not a fun expierience.
The strike was like you said, at least 50 or 100 ft. away. I have been struck and also been <100ft within several other bolts....this was a fairly safe distance believe it or not. LOL
This is the most fake youtube video i have ever seen. Can't you put some effort into it? I like how the lighting goes through the tree; it just sways gently in the breeze unaffected.
Why would you wonder that? If you had a close encounter with death, you would react the same way. You should probably do your math on lightning strikes to comprehend this.
Yes, but when you're close enough to lightning (like 10 feet away), you eerily don't hear anything due to the fact that you are inside the sonic wake.
I had that happen to me once while driving, where the lightning hit the stop light in front of me - big flash of light, goosebumps, the light went dead for a minute, and the only thing you could hear were raindrops.
The lightning was nowhere near as close as it appeared in this video; the "lightning" you saw was the effect of the flash of the actual bolt (off-screen) interacting with the lens coatings. You can get the same vertical lines by pointing your digital camera at the sun (WARNING: May void your warrantee).
@amberrbamberxox u must b joking! if lightning hit ten feet away, thee is a high chance ull survive! u have 90% chance surviving a direct hit from lightning!
All these people are disputing you on 10 feet... Haha well clearly they've never experienced being that close to a strick! It might be 30 feet away but you don't know the difference! Haha, anyways cool video man the strick could not have happend at a more perfect time haha
that lightning was about 100 meters away from you (1 second between lightning and thunder equals 330 meters distance to you, and that was about a third second). But very spectacular although!!
mine is worse when i was walking home from my friends house and it was gonna rain then all of a sudden a lightning strike 2feet away from me and it was dammn scary and u can feel after the lightning strike my heart was beating very fast non stop
The lightning strike was very close, but not 10 ft in front of you. The lightning you saw in this video is actually a reflection of the real lightning at your camera lens. It's called "ghost lightning". So I think the real strike were somewhere 50 meters away.
@matysek123456 That could be, that would put the bolt above or too the side of the camera shot. If you stop frame, it looks as though the bolt is weaved into the tree and it does not look transparent like a lens refracted image. Also flash to sound (less than 1/10 second) puts the strike less than 30 meters or less than 100 feet So I disagree and I think the bolt just beyond or within the tree.

thats fake! and the reason is cause if the ligthing strikes 10 feet front him then he would shake and cause of the sound and the camera should make weird stuff.....
Lighning didn't hit the tree, it was a camera optical illusion. Happens all the time when u film lightning. Nice video though then again if it struck that tree 10ft in front of you, the energy from the lightning would go through your body and prolly throw you a couple feet. It would have been the perfect scenario for a "Side-Strike".
OMG! =o Step AWAY from the window... and while you're at it, find the thickest rubber-soled shoes you own... I'm watching just as what's left of Hannah sidles up to New England... top of my new chore list: clean under bed. I may be spending some time down there after watching THIS! Glad you're safe.
BTW - YouTube? The "related" videos are not helping my nerves! :D
lol, fake. the tree would be on fire. and he would have been blown back like 5 feet by the blast.
