how does Mr. Berlin get into the solo section. its a brilliant pivot modulation on what i believe to be the fourth or fifth chord of the head the second time through. Cm to Am then getting back to the original key for the recapitulation of the head. the drum s are superb . the way he pivots the accentuated beat to two and four for an instant. this is a well thought out piece i can believe its like 25- to thirty years old already. Unbelievable!!!!
Jeff Berlin. What can you say about the guy that hasn't already been said? I found the sheet music to this. Before I actually started practicing it, I didn't think 0:00 - 0:52 was going to be too hard to learn. I was wrong - big time. This song requires alot of endurance. Even though each of those bars can be played in one hand position, I found it very easy to trip up on them. I highly recommend learning this if you're a bassist and want to build up endurance and hand coordination. Great tune!!
My world did spin around when I heard this song first time in 1988. It really opened my mind and did show possibilities for bass playing. Whole CD is just great piece of art! Also opening solo in this song is genious.
