most i do to rep something is do an eyebrow slit or 2 which is not extreme and can be covered up or played like it's a scar but the second you tatt ur face up u let it be known that you'll never have a professional job
what were you thinking? that looks terrible, and not artistic at all. sorry but nomatter what you have to say no one's going to take you seriously looking like that
would you ever get a tattoo in the face by someone wearing a business suit and tie and works in a cubical in a white walled office with? my guess would be know because of the assumption you would make about the person. the only way for you to know that the guy can do good work will be to know him personally and the world is just not like that. therefore discrimination is inevitable due to our assumption based on our experiences about people who wear business suits and a tie to work.
I hope you didn't pay someone actual cash to do that to yourself. It is not anyone's fault you look like that-it's yours. I guess you got passed up for that job as hospital administrator again-eh?
now youre stuck in your apartment having a conversation with a camera about how you are resentful toward society for not understanding and immediately accepting your decision to put 2nd grader scribblings (poor quality) on your face while the rest of the world keeps turning without you. You try to rationalize your poor choice by claiming it was for artistic reasons instead of owning up to the mistake you made that has now disfigured you for life and made you a self loathing antisocial outcast
Kudos for a perspicacious analyzation of a critical concept.
But, I must ask, is it not the point of the counter-culture to challenge the status quo and demand change i.e. bringing an end to the prevalent oppressive power structures? Is it not a deliberate break from the "herd?" What else can fuel the angst? In a word, how could the counter-culture support the power structure (check 3:58) which its very existence is contingent upon as being its opposition?
I just wanted to say that this video was well done.
I had a tongue ring, and I wasn't able to get a job at Disney because of it. I also was told by a professor that once I "grow up," I wouldn't want or need it anymore.
I wanted to keep it, and I was looking forward to graduating with my doctorate, and having my tongue sticking out while I hold my degree. However, the tongue ring was cracking my teeth, so I took it out.
The comment is still there. I can erase one if you want. :-) Thank you for sharing, Starshine. It was probably a good choice to take it out, for your teeth, but it is a shame not to have that picture with your doctorate. That'd be precious.
Very well done. I had a tongue ring for over 4 years. I wasn't able to work at Disney because of it, and one of my professors in my doctoral program told me that once I "grow up," I wont need it anymore.
I took it out-but it wasn't because of them. It was because the tongue ring was actually cracking my teeth (ugh).
I definitely wanted to get my degree and stick my tongue out for my picture, but I wanted to take care of my teeth.
encapsulating time and a love for art , im not open art gallery for other ppl , what i have is personal to me , but ppl pass judgement on u instead of minding there own fucking business.
RetroJunkie. Art is subjective. Any old shit can be labelled art these days - so long as there's someone out there who'll agree with you. So leaving art aside: You didn't tattoo your body to improve your appearance. You didn't tattoo your body to improve your mind. You didn't tattoo your body for social acceptability. And I imagine that people who love(d) you are hurt and repulsed by your appearance....? So why exactly did you tattoo your body?
You are exactly right that a red dot seven feet in diameter in the middle of a twenty by twelve foot canvas is called art these days. However, he has a elaborate tattoo body suit which may have personal meaning for him.
You can't intellectualize self-mutilation. What you've done to your face (if real) is an expression of low self-esteem and a desire to be noticed at any cost. No prejudice. No government plot.
@tattootomorrow look dude you are obviously smart and well spoken, and I am a fan of tattoos and have alot myself, but I honestly wanna know what your reasons for the face tatt were and why you didnt get someone better to do it?
@TattooDesignArts Wrong, stupid. Circumcision isn't self-mutilation. It's child abuse. And I do have a problem with it. (See my top rated comment on "Female Genital Mutilation" by mwareham1 that I posted 5 months ago).
How can you compare an idiot who's fucked up his face through choice vs. an 8-year old girl who has forcibly had her clitoris removed?
you seem to have real emotional problems. why dont you sit in a corner and calm down. do u just find peoples videos about trying to be accepted in society and write hateful things on them? i know a few ADULTS who got circumsized as adults so how is that child abuse? also liposuction and getting your ears pierces are also socially acceptable forms of alteration. these are things you will find in every culture, so people should not be discriminated against for their own choices.
@TattooDesignArts This isn't a video about "trying to be accepted in society", moron. He wasn't born with a clown face. He did it for attention. And why are you giving creedence to cultures who practice FGM?
The tatt is great man.... WILD. I think the videos of mine being done are under Tat2Joe. I love having a fucked up face.... whether people discriminate or not..... i find it bonds strangers though through differences
oh no doubt , i was shocked when i turned on n saw u with it , because i know in a video u said about how ppl have tried to turn u against the idea.
i think ur facial ink is awesome , i also agree with ur stands on that ppls skin shouldn't be a open invitation for other ppl.
they should make modded society's and unmodded society's , segregate ppl because the difference between the modded is that they dont care if someone else is modded or not.
i have a question for u dude , just wondering as ive watched all ur videos , how many times uve had interviews and actually have ppl discriminate against the way u look either threw mods or hair styles ? have u ever worked since being modded ?
Probably no more than a half dozen times, all told. Banks reliably do it, Starbucks did it once, embarrassingly, a few book stores, and some temp agencies (though that was more complicated). I had a good job at a calling center, which didn't seem to mind for a while, and I've been a tutor. The more colorful tattoo is recent though, so it is kind of a different ball game, in the past I had the smaller cartoons on my face, and it was easier to look past.
I am religious and I in no way promote war. In fact, I am angry at Neo-Cons (R.I.Pieces) for promoting war in the name of Christianity, my religion, which clearly is founded primarily on forgiveness and love. Looking at the teachings of Jesus he would CLEARLY be against war. Neo-cons ignore everything about the religion they claim to follow and just use it to justify their bullshit.
if you were as clever as you are trying to make out, you wouldn't of had a load of shit tattooed on your face bro

It isn't mutilation, silly whiner. I don't need to be noticed by negative critics who can't appreciate art like yourself.
No one is speaking about a government plot either. It's like you can't speak my language.
