Love this song and love Rory. So right in what you say - how can anyone compare the master with rubbish that some plonker thinks was good! Taste is what it's all about!!!
i saw rory live in manchester. i was having a drink before the gig in the pub next door and 2 guys ot up to leave.i had to do a double take. it was rory having a pre gig guiness
I was going to say that his guitar should be in the rock hall of fame, but then I got to thinking; screw the hall of fame. Rory should have been in there within 3 years of the hall of fame being built. The idiots who run the rock-n-roll hall of fame wouldn't know great talent if it tore a 6 foot hole in their asses.
I got turned onto Rory by a friend just after Irish Tour came out in the states. I was so blown away that the next time he came to SoCal I saw him 5 times at 5 different places in 7 nights. EVERY show was INCREDIBLE. I agree, his ballads got too little attention. Thanks for sharing this
Wow :'( I must have seen him just before he died. Methinks it was about late March-early April and he really wasn't looking well but still put on a great show :) Great player still missed by many.
Great tribute, and a great song that doesn't get enough credit IMO. It was one of things that underlined Rory's individuality for me as a teenager, that he could put out an album covering such a wide spectrum from songs like Walk On Hot Coals to a country waltz like this made me realise how shallow the pop culture of the time was, and that good music was good music, whatever the genre.
