@engel123654 I'm pretty sure the forerunner (precursors of the covenant) created the gravemind to produce them. they would merge with them and the flood would give them ecstasy. they had technology to prevent them from mutating. at leas that's the way it should be

My brother and I fought the Flood, and we both admired the Arbiter for fighting side-by-side with Master Chief. I was particularly pleased when reinforcements from other Sangheili arrived and began fighting with us. Together, we destroyed the Flood and stopped their infection.

Good point. Well he was kinda annoying and if you let him talk he'd keep crying about how scared he is of the flood. If there was any way I could've helped him I would have but if we didn't kill him the flood would've eventually kill him because he's just sitting there.

He would rather die as a marine than food.

Because grunts dont have enough protein in there bodies for the flood to form in.

Well, that's not completly true. The grunts are not strong enough to make a combat form out of, so they mutate them into carrier forms (the big ones that carry the liittle ones in them) you never see grunts get infected because the transformation takes a long time. Sorry for the nerd talk, I read the books.
