  • They will never be better than Matthew and Steve (who I have had the immense pleasure of meeting and having a medal handed to me by him not long ago)

  • Aylings... Best boats at that time. Such a shame they went under.

  • Hmm, you may be right there!

  • That is not in Munich. it's Hazewinkel!

  • James is an incredible athlete...

  • horrible commentating, commentating about wimbledon during a rowing race

  • I still take my hat off to James for swapping sides and still achieving what he did.

  • very short stern on the british pair or is it just me?

  • @srsly101 I don't know about that, but I do know that when Redgrave and Pinsent rowed together their coach, Juergen Groebbler, asked Aylings (their boat manufacturer) to build the seating positions closer together to minimise the check in the run of the boat.

I think that the blue end has a fore-shortening effect too!

  • @AJC79 yea suppose, looking at the 2000 olympic british pair it also looks short. must be a combination of both, thanks for clearing that up :)

  • @srsly101 It's deffinate;ly not a shprt stern

  • easy race? doubt it

  • @AxelPRC I agree, but certainly easier than the races were when Ginn and Tomkins appeared on the scene!
