@srsly101 I don't know about that, but I do know that when Redgrave and Pinsent rowed together their coach, Juergen Groebbler, asked Aylings (their boat manufacturer) to build the seating positions closer together to minimise the check in the run of the boat.
I think that the blue end has a fore-shortening effect too!
They will never be better than Matthew and Steve (who I have had the immense pleasure of meeting and having a medal handed to me by him not long ago)
