  • Where do you find these things? I want to be a steampunk but the only clothes i can manage to find look more emo than punk :\

  • @littlepoet257 I personally suggest places like Etsy or even DeviantArt, there are a number of artists there who offer clothing and accessories commissions. Of course, you could always make your own, which is what I do ;D

  • Nice boobs.

  • As a historian major, it looks to be that the Steampunk style looks like early 1900s because the clothing. Is impossible that Steampunk if from 1980s.

  • @royaladam yes the fashion is from the erly 1900 but the name "steampunk" came about in the 80's when people started dressing it aha ><

  • @onlynameavalible I think it's also called Neo Victorian or something. I love this style though, it's so cool!

  • @onlynameavalible The term 'Steampunk' was first given to the new genre of sci-fi novels appearing around the 70's and 80's that had a historic rather than futuristic setting, usually the Victorian era and inspired by the sci-fi of Jules Vernes and H.G. Wells. Sci-fi had already been overdone and authors were trying something different. Consider it the polar opposite of Cyberpunk; regressive rather than progressive. The fashion craze followed on from there.

  • @cameraguy38 like Stephen Baxter's "Anti-Ice"?

  • @Rickyrab Yep, or Moorcock's 'The Warlord of the Air' or Harrison's 'A Transatlantic Tunnel, Hurrah'. They were all sci-fi novels that dealt with alternative histories/technologies set mainly around the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. The Steampunk art and fashion phenomenon followed on from there. I should probably also mention the amusing description a friend recently gave to me regarding Steampunk fashion however. They said it was "When Goths discovered brown".

  • @cameraguy38 funny, they don't always look all that Gothic.

  • @royaladam The books were from the 80s. They were about the Victorian era.

  • is the piece of paper inside the locket, steampunk?

  • Gorgeous!Did u made the corset? If so would you be so kind to share a tutorial?

    :)

  • Very pretty. :)
