Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your vids! English is beging to feel harder then Korean -in a sence. Thank you for explaining what each word means, it's the most helpful. I love your pan shots of Seoul. :) The concluding statistics you mention are very encouraging! -thanks again :) (kamsahamnida)
I think that it is a bad idea to compare English and Korean in terms of how difficult one or the other is???
Any language other than the native one is 'challenging' but some teahers have made it easier for the student whereas the others have confused them.
As far as English is concerned, in Korea there is a phobia...otherwise people are pretty good - all they need is confidence and must tell them that making mistakes is a way of learning things...that is how we learned to speak Korean.
@sarahinseoul Hi Sarah!! Actually... the US FBI listed Korean as the #1 or #2 Hardest Language to Learn on Earth! o_O ... I'll see if i can find the wikipedia entry... BRB! =p
@koreancrashcourse if definitely is, the Defense Language Institute, the United States Military institution for teaching entire languages within months up to a year and a half consider Korean to be a level IV language, a long with Chinese and two others it is one of the hardest languages in the world!
Honestly, if I wasn't a native English speaker, I would never learn English, lol. Since beginning to study Korean, I recognize just how difficult my language is. I have a high respect for anyone that has chosen to study English as a foreign language, cause I know I could never do it.
@kiaransali I don't want to seem rude at first. I'm french. So, I speak french as my native language, I have learnt English for 10 years, German for 7 and Korean for 1.
English is the most easy language I heard. Grammar is so poor, when you compare with the other languages I know. Vocabulary is also easy, with a large inspiration from French and German.
Yeah, English is not that hard, just some typical accents, in my opinion
@MrBreakthewalls I was speaking from a Korean perspective. English is easy for you because French, German and English all have the same root. Depending on what your native language is, English can be incredibly easy or incredibly hard. The problems with English are that there are so many exceptions to the rules, the fact that so many new words are added every year( which french does not do) and then there are variations depending on what English you speak, American or British.
Thank you so much
