ive exorcized a demon out of a person before. ive also casted out demons who werent actually possessing anyone or anything; they were free-roaming. one appeared in front of me and i casted it into a pig.. however, demons that externally control the minds of people are not always good to put in pigs. Just as the Orthodox church suffered under communism, and believers secretly prayed in their homes. In these places Christians are persecuted-it's illegal to go to church, you can lose your job if you can find decent work. Christians are routinely kidnapped, tortured, pressured to forsake Christ. However, how is delivering spiritually oppressed people from their bondage in the name of Jesus disobeying Him? It is not only proof of faith, but also of Good works. Again, these people come to this church, seeking to be healed by the Holy Spirit; by God's power. This priest is a servant, that our Compassionate Lord is using to heal his people & to Strengthen their faith in these evil times. They do so inspite of pressure to deny Christ!

The Eastern Church uses images, the Cross or the Image of Christ, as means for believers to express their faith, love & devotion. This isn't idolatry; we reverence the One represented, not the wood/paint/metal. (Just as a photo of a loved one - you see the image, but you love & miss the person.) Also we can portray Christ's likeness because He became incarnate- He walked on earth & men saw Him. God's grace & power touches us through our faith & love; those who hate Him are repelled by His Image.

Why are you afraid of the Cross?Without any authority but the Bible & your own thoughts to guide you, you're outside of the Church instituted in the Book of Acts. You can't understand the role of Holy Tradition, inspired by the Holy Spirit & preserved by the Church.The first divine Liturgy was written by the Lord's brother, the Apostle James. I'm not speaking of "traditions of men", but those referred to in 2 Thess.2:15. The Apostles learned from Christ & gave these traditions to the Church.

Do you have any idea how many thousands of martyrs over the centuries had to suffer and die for their faith in Jesus, so that you can have the luxury of reading the Bible & worshipping as you please?
