  • this song is the song

  • I worked at Toyota Park when this show was going on, this particular piece completely changed my opinion of John Mayer. Amazing Guitarist.

  • dude this is so good, the live is better than the studio version

  • @TheUntaimedBand - When it comes to John, his Live music is always better than his studio music.

  • great performance!

  • This is real music! the gov has taken all our legends away :(

  • I watch every version of Gravity on YouTube just for the solos. What a guitarist.

  • Is there any way to see the whole concert in one part?

  • @P3AC3B0Y There is a DVD available that shows a lot of the show but not all. Go figure that one out...

  • I just got a few series of chills straight down and up my back with my body covered in goose bumps. Best Solo EVER!

  • Guitargasm.

  • The lick at 5:20 is off the hook..

  • Such a lovely tune. I remember stopping in my tracks when I first heard this over the radio. I was hearing something genuine and sweet. This song stood out from all the overproduced, digital auto-tuned, dance tracks. There is so much kindness and humanity in music like this. "Keep me where the light is".

  • Check out fabio bassist at 5:01. lol Wind in his hair, just feelin the music...

    Phenomenal solo though!

    JM is great.

  • literally cried when i heard this, its so moving

  • @bkizzleish This song did the same for me the first time I heard it. And the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 14th, etc (doesn't do it every time, but it hits hard). Thank goodness for musicians who can put feelings that almost all of us have into words that almost all of us cannot.

  • this preformance is great. but its got nothing on Live in L.A omg...... its a full 1:30 longer and amazing is the only way to describe it

  • plays an awesome lick at 3;19

  • hes never made me want to quit guitar, infact iv felt what hes felt before, dosent take much, just the love of the music really, and the love of the playing guitar.

  • Cool

  • I do play guitar and I've been "in the moment" or "really grooving" but I never did this/.

  • @22Lansdowne me 2. this is beyond grooving.. This is like Soulin'!

  • @cutherland gravity is working for me.

  • He is one of the people that make you want to quit guitar.

  • @TheDpage1 He's one of those people that inspires you to play guitar!

  • I don't know why people sometimes say that he's too "cocky". If I could play like that i would stand on the stage posing like hell. :D

he is only feeling his music. if i think of violinists... they look much more "cocky" while playing their instrument ^^

  • Das ist ein wunderbarer Act.Ich schaue mir jeden Tag dieses Video an,es ist einfach super

  • rip it up and then walkaway like nothing happened, class

  • and the laws of physics are suddenly reversed ad gravity sends you soaaaaaaaring

  • Good heavens John...you just refused to relent in that solo! Wow!

  • this is why on the REAL top 100 guitarist lists he is ranked 4TH

  • really? thats amazing. What list is that?

  • this has like 14 climaxes. Holy shit. Just amazing.

  • ...............That'swhatshesaid !

  • saw this on the crossroads d.v.d on a recent visit to Canada. AMAZING!!

  • Hahah gotta love 5:02-5:08... (especially cuz its not on the dvd...) hmmm

  • i thinkk it iss haha.

  • At 4:25, if you turn it up you can hear 60-cycle hum when John kicks on a pedal for the solo. God I love the tone of single coils, and the noise that comes with them....that ain't noise to me, it's just part of "the tradition."

  • its heavenly mate

  • IF anyone's got a copy of this on mp3 please let me know this is in my opinion his best performance of the song

  • i search for "i dont need no doctor" at crossroads guitar festival but i cant find the video, who can help me??

  • its not on the dvd. i didn't even know they did it at the show

  • Mayer is one of the best players the world has seen since the golden days of Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and all the 'real' guitar players. Hes been accused of taking tricks from Hendrix and SRV, but not only does he make it his own, and play it the way he plays it, but remember that every guitar player learns from watching other guitar players.

  • Amen. It's impossible not to take in the tricks of those older players because really, the guitar is a limited instrument, and with such innovators as this smart fellow mentioned, as well as others a bit farther outside the blues/rock genre just because they did so much for the instrument, and while blues leaves much room for emotion and feel, it's not the easiest to branch out of in sound and innovation. John is one of the better modern guitarists and is a fantastic songwriter.

  • Oh man. Finally someone that gets it. Right on.

  • I like John Mayer and the others but I have to disagree with you. Guitar being a limited instrument? No way

  • I have to agree. The guitar has been used in every type of music in limmitless ways.

  • @SDMF21 dude guitar is one of the most versatile instruments on the planet..besides the piano maybe

  • man i used to not like him untill i saw this. all i heard was his pop music, then i saw this and i realized what everyone was taking about. it's great!

  • That was legendary

  • Pure heart and SOUL in this song. He conveys so much emotion when he plays, so damn sexy.

  • I dont play guitar but i know music and this is phenomenal. amazing guitar work

  • nice quality video but maybe a little bit of lag

    awesome.

  • hahaha look at the back up with the tele laugh at about 6:16...just getting pure amusement out of mayer sexually assaulting his guitar

  • awe-inspiring.

  • I've been in and out of YouTude but never signed up until today. This concert aired over the weekend during the winter NAMM show in Anaheim. I was compelled to sign up to post this comment. This relatively new kid on the block plays with such old soul. A few "licks" reminiscent of Hendrix but this is all his own. An awesome performance.

    I feel his music! Peace

  • I know what you mean! Glad you liked it:)

  • @AudioBabe777 u said it brotha!
