@TacticalShinobi Similar in a way you fight and control your army, but Revenant Wings is far superior in my opinion, HoM is ok but not something I'd recommend, rent it if you can or better just borrow a copy from a friend if you like it enough then go ahead and buy it. ;)

Not that hard to find one actually. I literally just bought an SNES and Secret of Mana within the last few weeks. Not hard to find them at all. It's just a matter of whether you're willing to put up the cash for it all.

Remakes usually end up ruining the original source material anyway (would be doubly so for an SoM remake, since Koichi Ishii has left SquareEnix). Nothing is ever going to beat going back and replaying the same game you loved rather than a hackneyed remake.

@micahely I admit some of the remakes have been pretty bad but theres been a couple that have been pretty good to. Chrono Trigger DS was pretty awesome.

Why does EVERYONE keep clamoring for remakes of their favorite games?

SoM, Chrono Trigger, FF7... everywhere I turn, it's "remake this" and "remake that".

Honestly, if you love the games so much, just go play the originals. That's what they're there for.

@micahely dude its to monopolize more and more and not have to come up with an original idea for a year or so. remakes are for lazy people anyways. i prefer the originals i still have ff7 on the ps1 and chrono trigger on the super. and its a way for younger audiences to get a taste of what it was like way back when... which is sad because you can thrift it or ebay it for the same damn game...

It's because all those people are pussies that only care about graphix and shit... There is some point in which I can understand them, however and it is the time of gameplay. If you beat the classics again and again, there's nothing new, no secret to unlock, nor any cool stuff of sound test or anything. What's fun with remakes it's the new content added to the game, so that you can enjoy it longer .If you want your games remade only for the graphics, then you suck and you should buy an XBOX 360

Love this game. But it is easy as hell. AI is incredibly stupid. I used to play starcraft and warcraft. Maybe that's the reason. The graphic and idea r pretty good tho , love the cartoon dragons & monster. It's my FIRST TIME to play this Ranarok/ maple story RTS. Strongly recommend to everyone.

Should pick up final fantasy tactics if you haven't played it already.

the original on PS1 is Incredible. The one on gba, terrible, but the one they put out for ds is great, hightly recommend if you like strategy games like this and warcraft

I really liked the one for the GBA and DS but they are quite different from this one.

tactics advance for gba has too many laws for it to really shine, overall the game was good like most square games, but the laws and judge kinda killed it.

I have actually beaten it without abusing the walkthrough, though I did need it, but it is incredibly difficult. You need hours of retrying and picture perfect strategizing, and it is really really hard without being too much fun. The last boss left me pretty much launching fodder at it to prevent Roget at a quarter health from dying with the others dead. It's actually pretty depressing and disappointing, storywise and gamplay-wise.

I saved my money for this when i heard that there was a new mana coming out expecially one set 19 years before Secret of mana 2.

I borught this game and realized that i wasted my money on a game that literally dosen't let you pass the 13th chapter.

Some advice to others - Do not get this game because it's gameplay aint like the other mana games, it sucks and chapter 13 is as far as you can go because it's impossible to beat.

That's why i don't play Heroes of Mana anymore.

If you haven't lost all interest in the game, the online walkthrough is REALLY helpful. It helped me get past most of the levels that I was struggling with. I am on the second last chapter and am totally stuck, but it is possible to get past chapter 13. I know what you mean though, it is mega hard and overall the series has gone down the pooper.

@Shemmitt Well, my friend, I'm in the same situation that you... I'm stuck in chapter 18 and I can't even survive 5 minutes without getting my ass kicked by all the dragons and shit...  Bought the game 2 years ago. Played it non-stop for 3 weeks until I reached ch.18... Never played again since.

I hope this game is better than children of mana. This game series needs to be revamped. Popularity has gone down the crapper and this series has been labeled as "cursed". They should just blow everyone away with a mana game for the 360 or something. It sucks to see your favorite series become shitty lol.

The pathfinding (AI) is horrible but if you're able to tolerate or ignore the game is actually decent/pleasant, you will have to micromanage which is crazy and keeping tab of each character's health is almost near impossible, the only thing I can tell you is: pay attention to your hero's HP. :\ though overall I recommend that you RENT it, or BORROW it. Don't buy. Save your money for FF Tactics Advance 2 if Strategy if your kind of game.
