  • Nice demo of a great ledgend of an amp. I use the pignose piggy in a box through a closed back 12" cabined with a weak ass weber alnico and that thing sounds like a tweed deluxe. With all the touch dynamics and sustain. no fx needed.

  • That's an excellent demo vid. Well done. I just ordered a 7-100 TW paying damn near a hundred with tax and dropped by to see WTF I'd done for a Benjamin. Very well demonstrated. It's great to see how well it does mic'd.

  • that sounds more like a orignal 70s pignose. the new ones only sound good with the volume on about 3. Cranked it very dark and muddy. maybe a EQ pedal might help. i have both , a origna 70sl i paid 160 for and a newer one i got off ebay..The new ones run on a silicon transistor where the old used a germanium. find a old one if you can and add a clean boost, killer little rig that recoeds great. I like the new ones as said , set to 3 plus it takes pedals pretty good.

  • Hey there. Great vids! I'm giving serious consideration to buying this amp, and was wondering how long you get out of a set of batteries? I want to use it in conjunction with my iRig (effects rig on the iTunes from Amplitude). Thanks very much :)

  • I really like Pignose amps. If you use alkaline batteries (set of 6), it will last about 30h at max volume. I only use this amp at max volume and control the sound using the guitar pots. A 9V DC power supply comes with the amp. Recently I start using rechargeble batteries. This amp drains batteries just like a V8 drinks gas!

  • @teofaouaz Thanks for the info mate. 30h or a set o AA's is pretty impressive. That's more than enough for me to jam around at lunch time, or when I go camping.

I might go down the rechargeable path though - just to save a few bucks in the long run.

Thanks again for taking the time out to reply. Much appreciate. All the best with your rock!

  • nice sound. i like it.

    oh,and also nice playing ;)

  • great demo, i was thinking of getting one and this helped alot :)

  • Thx ^^

  • How much is the amp?

  • @zombiedigital69,

    This amp costs about US$100.

  • @zombiedigital69 I just bought one in a garage sale for 4 dollars!!!!!

  • @Kurki Lucky Guy !! :-)

  • @Kurki yeah, lucky guy, let me know if you ever wanna sell it for half that

  • Great video way to show the versatility of one of my favorite amp..People forget just how many studio recordings were done with the Pignose 7/100 amp...Who says you need a big tube amp and a full effects board for great tone...

  • Great Sound!!!

  • thanks for video!

  • i just don't like tone of this amp

  • nice tone bro.

  • man i love your kinman demo vids. they are great. i got the woodstocks for christmas. can i ask, would i have a problem putting in the pickups, because i only have the 'Squire' strat copy.

  • Woodstocks will sound great combined with your Squire. You will have a $5000 tone! I used to have one 90's Korean Squire. I sold it and I regret, because that guitar used to sound great. If you didn't buy a non soldering kit, I would recomend you to take your guitar to a good guitar tech, so you will avoid some potential problems. If Chris sent you the capacitor and resistor kit, I strongly recomend you to install them. Its a great upgrade in the guitar tone if you use the volume pot under "10".

  • hey thanks so much mate. i was planning on getting the pickups installed by a guitar repairer to avoid any problems. i dont think i got those capacitor and resitor kits, but i got the thing where it is all pre wired, and comes with new pots, the selector switch and the new inputs and so on...

  • i have the same chair! the one under the pignose. kk staples? yeah~ and also, impressive sound :0

  • Great tone and you know how to do it! 5 stars!

  • Nice Skynyrd tone there!

  • Friking right on. Maybe the speed metal guys demo'ing the Cube 60 noise boxes should listen to this. Way to go.

  • Som lindo esse amp tem...

  • thanks very much for this! I own a pignose and i'm beggining to learn how to make it sound good, so this is very handy!

  • I am am very happy that it helped you. Thanks.

  • Great stuff!

  • Kinmans Rule! I have a set on my Strat and my Tele. I posted a video response of my Kinman loaded Tele.

  • I just watched your video. Wow!

  • thats right you dont need a 100watt marshall stack check that out its smaller then a shoebox.

  • it's a legend for a reason

  • Killer stuff!

  • the pignose has got powerfull 5 watts not only mingy 3!!!! =D =D =D

  • LOL

  • You sound great man, really enjoyable to watch.. Keep it up! ;)

  • if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the tabs for the sweet home alabama solo? i can't find any anywhere. thanks.

  • I'm sorry. There are no tabs. I spent some time to listen to the original music and find the notes by myself. However, there are some videos in slow motion on Youtube that can make your job easier.

  • Harmonycentral has just about any Tab you will ever need... for free!

  • How long do the batteries last? What type? Is there a DC option withem too?

I have a Pignose G40V (40W valver 6L6) and that is excellent also. Anyone played the Pignose Detonator pedal?? Modelled to look like the portables...

  • It uses 6 AA type batteries. In case of alcalines, they last about 40h.

  • Excellent demo! I've got a Pignose and have never really explored the full range with less volume on my strat. Thanks.

  • excellent. thank you for your insight. nice job on sweet home alabama by the way.

  • hey great playing man. i was seriously looking at these pickups for my strat and wanted something with more umph than the stock single coils. can these cover hard rock all right?

  • You are right. These pickups have more punch and output than regular single coils. They are noiseless, dynamic, respond very well when distorted and also your Strat will still sound like a Strat. In my opinion, these are the best Strat pickups for hard rock.

  • tried this with a fender cs69 and you'll get the real sound of ed king ;)

  • I have another Strat with CS69 set installed in it. I prefer Kinman MK2! CS69 is too edgy and thin compared to MK2. And also, MK2 is noiseless and dynamic. CS69 is dynamic, but it hums...

  • 69's are edgy and thin thats why its more straty sounding. its the real thing mate :)

  • how would a Bad Monkey pedal sound with the Pignose?? this is the first time ive ever heard a Pig being played, and im really shocked at how well it works! great playing, dude!!

  • I tried Pignose with Jackhammer and Tube screamer. It just adds more gain to the circuit. Both pedals sound great through Pignose. I haven´t tried Bad Monkey, but I think that it would sound great as well.

  • thanks!!!! ~jessdog

  • great use of an "economy" amp :-)

could somebody tell me which AC/DC tune this

    is?

    Thanks

    Jessdog

  • Jailbreak

  • nice work again.

  • I've got a Pignose just like it ... very cool little amp!

  • These amps sound pretty cool. I came across one on eBay and went on here to see what they're like. Sound I like.

  • Excelente! Pignose realmente é um achado.

  • Hey, teofaouaz!

Só passei para temconvidar a assistir minha banda sexta, em Sumaré, no Studio V8, (vá até minha página para ver o endereço). Ficaremos felizes com sua presença.

By the way - onde consigo Kinman's?

  • Dude, thats some really good playing. Great sounding little pignose too. Thanks for sharing.

  • Skynyrd and AC/DC YEA!

  • Dude you can play! You should definately do MORE videos. Would you consider doing a close up on your left hand and maybe showing us some of that stuff slower -kind of breaking it down. Thanks

  • greeeaaaaat very good

  • greaaaaattt

  • Beautiful Playing...really!

  • i love the pignose its an amazing amp

  • A little bit false, but you are playing well and sound is good !
