For some reason I can't for the life of me get this strategy to work. I always fall just 300 or less below the requirements for gold. afsjsfasgkjfasg

The PC version required 56,000 points for a gold medal. The strategy in the video works, but ONLY if you play the interest game. Build the towers a bit slower than in the video so that you have more resources in the bank and accumulate interest. If you do it right, by the 14th wave you will have enough resources to build an additional tower and upgrade or two and still get a gold medal.

Thank you so much! I finally got it on XBLA. I've tried that stage so many times, always got just shy of gold. I gave up on it after a while, and today I figured why not check the internet. After one Youtube guide, still got silver. After yours, and the comment GOLD! Thanks! :D

This will not get you a gold medal for the XBLA version. To get gold, simply do this:

1) Instead of 3 guns at the starting area, make one level 1 laser and one level 2 laser. This will save you 100 resource units.

2) In the block of towers just above the cores, do not place anything in the lower right corner. Instead, make the upper left corner a level 2 laser.

3) Everything else stays the same.

Voila, you should have a gold.

Alrighty this tutorial doesn't work at ALL on the xbox. You will always get a Silver Medal. I think the trick to this one is to use Laser Towers. In any case the Tutorial found at GamersName works great for this level. I suggest you use that one instead if your on Xbox.

Indeed this strategy no longer works (For PC atleast).

This gold strategy works, check out the video in suggestions made by nightbirdds and you should be fine.

This was the only level I couldn't get gold in so I had to look here. Didn't work for me the way the video says but I made the changes you guys mentioned and got it. Didn't need to sell anything either...

I'm running the most current version on Steam (same as on Xbox).

Silvermagic's strategy no longer works (although the basic framework is still the only real solution). Top and bottom inferno towers are still correct; replace middle inferno with gun. Leave bottom right spot of the cluster of four towers near core empty due to line-of-sight (as another poster noted)... finally, IMPORTANT: replace upper left spot of the cluster of the same four towers near core with a level 2 laser tower. 56,032

leave bottom right one empty cuz it can't fire much because of LoS

instead that upgraded guntower put lazertower above the bottom flametower

tower sell value: 3937 (i built 2 laser towers in place of 2 of your gun towers)

Thanks mate...nice tutorial. If you _really_ want to climb high on the leaderboard it seems you have to be almost suicidally frugal about when you build your towers, and how many...you have to hold back on towers & upgrades 'till the last possible second. The top entries seem to make do with with the bare minimum number of towers.

For xbox gold medal, instead of upgrading the bottom right gun tower in the 4 cluster, I added a gun tower just above the lone inferno tower. Strictly following this guide I came up 78 points short of gold.

this is a tricky one. this strategy works but try upgrading the towers near the beginning of the path (esp the first two infernos) first, because you want to kill the aliens before they start taking cores. that way you build up a tad more resources.

IF YOU HAVE 100 MONEYS BY THE END OF THE GAME. THATS 1 x 100. SO YOUR SCORE IS 100.

IF THE TOTAL SELL AMMOUNT OF ALL YOUR TOWERS IS 5000, THEN THATS 1 x 5000. SO YOUR TOTAL SCORE IS 5100.

NOW IF YOU SELL A TOWER FOR SAY, 250, IT WILL MAKE YOUR MONEY 350 AND YOUR TOTAL TOWER SELL VALUE 4750.

... 350 + 4750 = 5100. NO DIFFERENCE?

Using this strat, I managed to get 32484. The key was not building or upgrading towers until it is needed, and staying above 200 resources to keep the resource generation from dropping too low.

I have tried this out a fair bit, and it is surprisingly difficult to actually GET a gold medal on this one - you basically have to use this strategy, but also apply expert timing. Ideally you want to be over 4500 resources and all towers here upgraded to get the gold. In essence, wait a bit for interest to build up before committing to a new construction!

plant all the exact towers like what SilverMagics did in this video but with one exception, do not upgrade one of your inferno tower, for sure u will get a gold medal. In this video SilverMagics got like 40 extra points but without upgrading one of the inferno towers i got an extra 90 points. =) good luck

it dosent always work, with the last 2 bosses one dies before passing them and so he gets his cores an you cant kill him
