Your fps is low cause CPU. VGA Can run this game in better fps, but processor.. You should get an Phenom II x3/x4.

I got an ATi 4890 last week (upgrade from 9800gtx) and I'm getting about 40 to 50 fps on High / Very High settings and 1680x1050 resolution! :)

It cost only 140$ and its fuckin awesome!!

p.s. I was thinking about getting a 5870 but it costs about 350$.... :p

i think you can activate up to 3 times and you can revoke an activation when u uninstall too, and yes for some gay fucked up reason u need to be signed into GFWL to save the game.

the better CPU you get the better will GTA run. And if you'll have a quad core pc ofcourse you'll need a good gpu. 9800gtx is way better then 8600 gt, and if you're looking at more expensive cards, get a gtx295. That won't make a big difference in GTA IV, but it will at other games..

Anyhow, dunno what your gpu is, but changing your cpu in GTAIV will affect more.

No. 32-bit only recognises 3Gb. 64-bit XP/Vista recognises all 4Gb or more.

yes, it is the number of bits that the computer can use to address memory locations that affects how much RAM is recognised. We need 64 bit in the future but I'm not messing around with 64bit software right now.. to many issues. 3GB is enough for GTA4 anyway, but not 2GB it seems.

look,this game is a shit.You need a extraordinary pc with the best grafic card....a lot of memory,space...etc.They put a lot of details in the game.I have a friend who has a nvidia ge force 9900 gtx and a great pc but the game is working at the medium quality,and is not working very good,i don't know but to play this game you need a GREAT PC!

Yes I'm using Vista and I'm sorry to say Gbax13 that I am having problems with 2GB. I've tried lots of tweaks and it has reduced the stuttering but still it uses too much memory so I'm considering upgrading to 4GB. Vista doesn't help with all the useless crap in the background :(

Yeah a 3.2Ghz dual core should not be a bottleneck for this game. The problems seem to be GPU and main memory. I've got 2GB and GTA4 eats it all up! I've never had a game which ran slower because of the amount of RAM, its usually CPU/GPU.

It COULD be better, we have to wait and see if Rockstar fixes the errors there are with this game.

But after that it looks better, can run at 60 FPS, more people online, replay editor, multiple ways to controll the game (going to use a 360 controller myself).
