  • Jupiter sucks butt. seriously.....absolutely sucks. Cisco is whats gonna change the world, you fools.

  • hey that was me in the wiring closet :x

  • 4Qs? do you guys have "cisco II" with that it takes 2 years. switch configs and what not. enable class config t ip address 192.68.0.1

    theres no place like 127.0.0.0

  • You just failed.

    Its 127.0.0.1

  • Got CCNA time for CCNP! w00t

  • ... or Swyx

  • Word of advise; if you're interested in making money get an engineering degree, then take certification courses OTHER than Cisco (they're not everyting) - try Juniper, Nortel, Shoretel, etc.

  • Definitely get an engineering degree. The rest is bad advice. Check out the financials on those other companies. When you're done there, check out market share and trending....then decide. Don't pick another random company because a stranger tells you to. If you don't want to do Cisco, go the security route - CISSP. If that doesn't interest you, go for RedHat or Oracle. Check out the highest paid IT professionals and see what certs they hold - CCIE is one of them.

  • REDBUTT; Nortel & Juniper are players in both the Carrier & Enterprise space! My original message was more to say Cisco is not the only game in town. Your suggestion on CISSP is by most anyone's best option (I have 2 on my staff and I pay them very well).

ABOVE ALL: Regardless of certification; COMMUNICATE effectively! (don't' go hide in the lab or back room! and make sure everyone see's you as a solution to their problems NOT the IT guy who dictates policy & standards!

  • Juniper is a leader in routing and security. Do a little research beyond the simple financials and over all market share and you will see Juniper is top rated by the industry analysts. Sure Cisco has the largest market share and most revenue but they also have the most people who already have their certificates. If you go for a certificate from Juniper you can be one a few that is certified for a growing company not just one of the many all trying for the same jobs.

  • i've never even heard of juniper, which means it SUX! lol

  • Yeah CCNA here i come then CCSP and finally CCIE.

  • interesting...

    CCIE's anyone?
